HP manufactured goods lines comprise of PCs and other computing equipments venture and business standard servers, storage equipments, networking equipments, software, scanners, plotters, printers and other imaging equipments. HP at all times renounced the "hire and fire" attitude, which intended to utilize many workers for a sole large order and to discharge them later (Mike & Benjamin, 2003). As an alternative, the Corporation gave its workers "almost perfect job security." Even in 1974, while the U.S. economy was in an insightful emergency and many citizens were out of work, HP stayed away from layoffs by a four-day workweek, which was a limited evaluation in corporate America. The two creators depended in the "individual 's own motivation to work" and treated their workers as relatives; hence the tradition to call everyone other by the given name - even the two originators were only referred to as Bill and Dave. The HP employees were involved in the company with stock opportunities and were even rewarded additional premiums when HP was flourishing - today referred to as profit sharing. These actions served to classify the workers with their work and to motivate them.
The HP way involves extensive employment benefits for instance scholarships for the worker 's children. At the end of the 1950s, Bill and Dave made a decision to set down the company 's purposes, which were to work as arrangement for "all decision-making by HP people," because the company had developed even bigger (Hofstede, 1993). ESG’s products were built based on proprietary RISC microprocessors and UNIX operating systems. Executive level support is important because grassroots movements rarely inspire change. Without executive commitment attention to diversity any programs will likely fall by the wayside.
Nowadays, racism, politics, and prejudices are the cause of boycotting, riots, and injured people lately, but racism is not the issue. We are constantly surrounded by several different types of race, skin color, and culture. Today, people do not pay attention if a person is different because we are all equal, but with different background and we are worth the same. We have all spoken to a person with a different heritage and shared several different priceless moment with at least of person who is different. Cultural pluralism is the best hope for a just and cohesive society.
Those that go into the business world quickly recognize that each work environment they find themselves in can be total different from another. This can especially be said even of environments within the United States, from region to region. There is definitely a disparity of workplace environments from country to country. Not only can culture drive a varied atmosphere, but the diversity of the personnel making up that environment can equally create a challenge that a leader must be prepared to manage. Recognizing that special care needs to be placed on communication and perception skills is crucial in our present professional domain. Managers of today need to employee tools from the psychological and sociological field to be successful. Having a deep understanding in the differences in culture and diversity in the workplace is critical, especially when debating about accepting a position overseas or assigning an employee to an embedded position abroad. With a broad knowledge of cultural differences and diversity, success as a manager and the stability of a positive work environment can be achieved and maintained without unnecessary effort and focus.
I have to start this paper off with a confession. I had hand surgery a couple of years ago and had to become a lefty for several months. The experiment would have been harder I know if I would have not gone through this experience. I am not a lefty but had to live as a lefty.so I can use my left hand to do more than the average right handed person. I have much appreciation for left handed people.
