Intel’s IT Strategic Planning Process in Relationship to Their Long Term Success

Abstract This paper explores four published articles on Intel’s IT Strategic Planning Process in Relationship to Their Long-Term Success. According to Hoovers (2016), like a number of companies, Intel is adapting to customer demands for new ways to do computing. Instead of keeping information on a desktop computer or a close-at-hand bigger system, companies are storing information on servers maintained in massive data centers. Intel is addressing the shift by investing less in PC chips, the business that drove it to become an industry giant, to one that makes chips with greater complexity and flexibility for data center applications. Every company’s ultimate goal is to maximize profits, and this can only be achieved by understanding the market needs. And according to Haydamack (2008), Haydamack & Johnson (2008), and Krisnapura (2014), Intel operates in 65 countries with almost 100,000 employees in 168 sites and has 59 IT sites with 6,300 IT employees. In 2013, 94 percent of all new services were deployed to the cloud. IT provides 14,000 ultrabook touch devices and 43,200 mobile handheld devices. This paper examines Intel’s IT in relation to digital strategies for insight, action, and sustainable performance.
