Positive implications for emotional wellness include a positive impact on the quality of your life and how you are able to connect with you emotions in the best way possible. When you know how to handle your emotions, you are able to easily manage your stress. The way it could negatively affect you is when you don’t know how to handle your emotions and commit actions against yourself and others that can cause some serious issues. These mental activities expand knowledge and skills as well as helping the individual discover their potential. When a person is aware of their intellectual wellness, they are able to appreciate their own mental growth and stimulation, be more engaged in intellectual and cultural activities, and be involved and accepting of new ideas and understandings. These are the many qualities that come with this dimension of intellectual wellness. According to Curtin University, research suggests that when we actively exercise our brain with intellectual endeavors, it also helps with increasing the number of connections between brain cells that also improve the functioning of the brain (Curtin University, 2014). With that being said, when we work on having a positive intellectual wellness, we are also improving our brain functioning.
