Intercultural management Leadership in a digital world is more challenging because the managers are required to be on their toes every minute. This is because the digital world changes very fast and this demands for faster decision making, flexible managers, and managers who are focused on the company's vision. Faster decision making is required as there is intense competition, and situations change rapidly in the digital world. Managers in the digital world do not have the luxury of making strategies for the whole year, then waiting to execute the strategy. They have to keep on revisiting and changing the strategy depending on the changes in the digital world (Deresky, 2011). This will allow them to change their tactics quickly and adapt to the ongoing changes. A manager who does not make decisions fast would not manage to compete in the digital world. According to Bligh and Riggio (2012), flexibility is another requirement for the digital world managers. The managers are required to roll with the current and future changes. When a manager discovers that a strategic is not working they need to change tact immediately and provide leadership to the group or team. Redirecting the team would allow the manager to spend minimal time working on strategies that are not effective and instead concentrate on other strategies.
