Intergenerational inequity is a concept that puts forth the idea that the current generation receives benefits without the cost leaving future generations to pay the cost without the benefits. Many arguments can be made for environmental and social inequity between generations, but economically we can see this inequity at work. The mounting government debt accrued by multiple decade long wars is one example as it will be placed upon the shoulders of not only my generations, but generations after. Kicking the can down the road can apply to the Social Security program as well.
