As learned in the article, “Risky Business: Trust in Negotiations,” establishing trust is crucial in negotiation. It opens the door for exchanging information. In this week’s group negotiation, it became more difficult to establish trust as the number of people involved increases.
However, through building trust, discovering interests, and logrolling, we were able to integrate and open the door for exchanging information. On the other hand, my group was fortunate to gain a larger slice of the pie through sticking to our grounds and making extreme but defensible offers, we could have achieved a better result by leveraging on time, asking for post-settlement settlement, and earning that extra bite off the apple. As a result, we have achieved a satisfying outcome: 600 points, 40 Stock Division, 3 voting seats, AAA-Lambert, Lambert expatriates, 10% compensation, $700,000 Sale of Ecotourism, 30 Building the relationship.
