Max walks into the classroom five minutes late, his shirt untucked and hardly buttoned. He sits down a few desks away from Ben who had arrived five minutes early and was waiting patiently for class to start. Although the boys seemed completely opposite, Ben the more conservative and shy one, while Max, a little more rebellious and mischievous, they were best friends and did most everything together.
A few weeks into their fifth grade year, the teacher announced that they would begin doing reports on their favorite animal. They knew that this was the first year they were able to use the computer lab in the library and the idea of being able to use the internet excited them.

Howard had come up behind them and tapped them on the shoulder.
“What do you think you are doing kids?” she said.
“Uh, we just accidentally clicked on the wrong site” Max exclaimed, terrified.
“I don’t think so mister, this is completely unacceptable. Both of you, follow me to the office right now!”
Mrs. Howard, infuriated yet shocked that they would do such a thing, walked them to the office and explained to the principle exactly what happened. The two boys followed the teacher, almost in tears fearing what the principle would have to say to them. They knew they would have to face some sort of consequences. Mrs. Howard spoke to Mr. Brooks, the principle, in private first and then let the boys meet with him after that. While the two teachers were discussing the event, the boys whispered outside.
“I can’t believe we got caught” said Max.
“I know, what are we gonna tell our parents? Mine are gonna kill me!” You could hear the fear in Ben’s voice. He dreaded the moment that he would have to tell his parents what he and Max had done that day. Max tried masking his fear with a careless attitude, and he played it off like he wasn’t really all that scared of getting in trouble.
“Whatever Ben, it’s not that big of a deal. I don’t care if we get suspended” Max said casually. Just then Mrs. Howard walked out and told the boys to go talk to Mr. Brooks themselves. They walked in and sat down while their principle
In the story, "Boy's Life", Cory Mackenson is in his homeroom teacher's classroom abiding for the bell to ring. It was almost summer break they only had a few more minutes until the bell girdled. He glanced outside, in the hallway, and noticed that another teacher was letting her kids go before the bell rang and questioned why Mrs. Neville didn't let her kids out early. Moments later, the bell did ring, but she told the kids to sit down, and then walk out in an orderly fashion, one row after the other. Cory knew that she didn't want her kids to leave because she was lonesome and not really savor her summer break.
They were to ignore him when acted out or became disruptive and praise him when he behaved in an acceptable manner. In a sense, this made every one of the kids in his class one of Sean’s teachers. They were forced to accept that Sean could get away with doing things that would have landed them in the principal’s office. Kathy would have to spend significant amounts of extra time working with Sean when teaching him how to do something the other children had learned in five minutes two weeks ago. The academic gap between Sean and the rest of his classmates continued to widen as the school year continued.
James from the collaborative classroom is leaving and this is not very good news but James goes up to Peter and says it's not his fault and that it was a accident. Then came the best hug I’ve ever felt”. (266) Peter has never felt so loved before and starts hugging him back right after. This is showing Mr. T has feelings for Peter and does not think he is a bad kid. Then and there everyone forgave Peter for what he had done. Mr. T could have been a bad teacher and done something mean but he did
Ben: Ladies and gentlemen. It’s now the time of the night where things take a more serious turn. All of the glorified encouragement awards have been handed out, so it’s time to get real.

Laurie, at first, did not seem at all interested. But when Laurie’s father and I both said that we knew that he was Charles, he just stared at us. “Laurie, or should I say Charles,” said Laurie’s father, “Your mother and I are very upset at your behavior.” “Lying to us is never the right thing to do. Not to talk about all the other trouble you have caused. Kicking the teacher, yelling in the classroom, being fresh, and telling other kids to say swear words is absolutely not ok Laurie!” I could see that Laurie felt a sense of fear. “Laurie,” I said, “Your father and I are going to have to punish you for what you have done. But first, we need you to apologize to your teacher and all of the students for your behavior during the past couple weeks. Do you know what it means to apologize?” “It means to say sorry,” said Laurie. “Correct,” I said. “So when you go to school today, I will ask your teacher to give you a chance to have a word
“I said i didnt want-” “Piggy! Piggy!”’ In that quote piggy is shown to be insicure of the name. I feel like all of the boys got a taste of what it’s like to have more grown up responsibilities and got to see what the real world is like and how it might be for adults.
Next when Ms. Jones told the kids talking about a band t-shirt to sit they did and were quiet when the bell rang. Although Tim made fun of Joe’s shirt, Tim was making faces and Joe was not paying attention. Second, there were arguments on a

In June of 1998 the country was horrified to learn of the death of James Byrd Jr. He was a 49-year-old black man who had been found horribly mutilated after being dragged to death. Authorities have charged three men with murder and violation of civil rights ("A Fatal Ride in the Night" 33). Obviously, if convicted, these men are guilty of a horrible crime, but what if this crime had been committed after viewing a racist website? If a person reads an emotionally charged, hate-filled website and then commits an act of violence, can the creator and owner of the website also be found guilty?
These days the internet has become an essential part to living for almost everyone but one of the controversial topics that people bring up is that whether or not the government should regulate information on the internet. Both sides have valid points which form a reasonable argument. Some people would say that they need to because of the dangers lurking around in the cyber world but the reasons for why the government shouldn’t regulate the Internet outnumber the reasons for why they should. The federal government should not regulate or censor information on the internet because doing so violates the first amendment and citizen’s right to privacy, degrades the educational value of the web, prevents the promotion and facilitation of
The freedom of speech that was possible on the Internet could now be subjected to governmental approvals. For example, China is attempting to restrict political expression, in the name of security and social stability. It requires users of the Internet and electronic mail (e-mail) to register, so that it may monitor their activities. In the United Kingdom, state secrets and personal attacks are off limits on the Internet. Laws are strict and the government is extremely interested in regulating the Intern et with respect to these issues.10 Laws intended for other types of communication will not necessarily apply in this medium.
Some people wonder who came up with the idea of internet censorship. Other people want to know which countries use it. Some ponder over the idea of what really is internet censorship. Internet censorship is controlling what can be viewed, and which sites can be used on the internet. Some things about internet censorship are countries that use it, and who started the idea of it.
Internet censorship is developing far and wide and influences us, regardless that as United States citizens, we have additional technological opportunities than what many other nations do. Numerous Americans underestimate the opportunities that living in the United States permits us. Whether we are sending electronic mail, posting on our social media pages, or seeking out the latest news, we are ensured the opportunity of self-expression and an inexhaustible amount of information right at our fingertips. Censorship takes control of people's expression, and many countries, governments, and leaders support it for this reason.
