The use of disparaging or boastful language is considered the definition of trash talking. Everyone has trashed talked at least once in their life. Trash talking would consider on saying how good you are at something or telling someone that they are not good at something compared to you. You could also consider trash talking as threats towards people or to a country. Most threats are sent through social media, text, or by phone. Trash talking is used in different ways, the most common are bullying, intimidation, and threats.

Trash talking no longer is just in sports, but it is seen in any place of competition. Social media has gone out of control. With people going up against others everyday it has left people to not be able to post anything without the flood of negative comments. Even our President has tweeted hurtful things about others and has led to a large mass of people to then follow what he says and then hate on that person as well. People who have access to others phone numbers are able to trash talk, but on a smaller scale. While Twitter is a platform where everyone can see what you post personal messages are only to the person involved in the conversation. It becomes mass floods of hate to the person, but the one receiving the hate does have the ability to block or delete all the messages being received. On Twitter, you have the ability to create multiple one multiple accounts to harass someone.
Verbal trash talking is where one person tells another person how they are better than that person or saying that they do a poor job at what they are doing. For an example, the NFL, has plenty of trash talking. Most of the trash talking is out on the field which could lead to more competition, penalties, or worse a fight.
