I chose the song “Still be here” too be the theme song of my eighth grade year because it’s about how the artist will never be truly “gone” and how he will always remain here through his words. The lyrics of the song “Still be here” represent some of my feelings in eighth grade, such as me feeling like I was reliving the past, wanting out of school, and there is proof of me being here. I felt like I was looking back five years The line that relates and shows this is “But the truth is I wasn’t even present in the currently”. Nothing ever suprised me in eighth grade, as if I knew what was going to happen before it did. It felt as if I were rediscovering something I already had. I felt detached as it happened. One example of this was when I got
I chose this song because, in my opinion, it has a good thesis that backs up the song lyrics and it gives you a positive feeling. Basically, the song is telling us to always keep our faith and stay strong no matter what. It encourages people to
In other words the author is trying to make a statement until to reach to your past you will then be able to transition in, which you really
Arriving at school, no one know what was going on. “I remember that the students were all very upset, but no one knew what was going on.” Being unaware of the situation, Lilarose felt scared and worried. “I would hear about what happened, but not being able to actually see it. I could not comprehend the situation.”
I was getting closer and closer. Not a bird in sight, not even a single cloud. The moon was starting to shine as the sun was descending from the cerulean sky. Drivers were getting closer and closer to their destination, so was I. I took one more footstep where my mind flashes back four years back. It was a warm atmosphere, although it wasn’t my desire to start somewhere fresh. I walked into my first class, two girls came up to me, and secured that I had a nice first day. After my first, class I go into a classroom, which wasn’t what I all expected. It all seemed so historic and antique. It really emphasized his passion. He was teaching something, that I had already learned. He was asking the whole class what the regions of the United States
The way she uses description in this essay and the flow of events is very similar to the way that memories rush in when one returns to a familiar place from one’s past. To someone that may not of experienced this phenomena the details described may seem to be disconnected and random.
To begin with, the film Harold and Maude is about two people of different age groups trying to fit in the society. The main characters, Harold and Maude, meet under different circumstances and they are determined to face life regardless of how cruel it might be. The movie discusses the issue of romance and life in general. Harold and Maude find companionship and love in each other, and although Harold is troubled and wishes to die, his love to Maude makes him stronger, and he is not discouraged by the age difference between them. The two protagonists find pleasure in attending other people’s funerals, and especially Harold who is longing to die. Nevertheless, when
Middle school, when that word pops up in one’s head, it’s a sudden reminder of dreadfulness, broken promises, regrets, first crushes, and last but not least, learned lessons. Another morning had brought another school day. Seeing familiar faces and teachers I just wanted to get through the day with no hassle, but that’s not always the case. At least it wasn’t for me. Making my way through the extended halls and walls that seemed to enclose upon me, I felt nothing more than like a chained prisoner. The bell rung and I remained seated in my class, encompassed by boxed, outdated computers and rusty white walls, I felt
A fiction book that helped me understand the issues with teen angst, is The Last Song. The way this book helped me understand teen angst, when the teen character and her brother had to move in with their dad, away from their mom when she got a job offer far away they had to go stay with their dad for the summer, and the teen character was angry with her dad because they haven’t seen him in years. Not knowing her dad had cancer and was very sick, she was always mean to him and never respected his rules, when he would try and talk to her she would either ignore him or lash out on him. Her dad eventually got very frustrated to the point and he got the cops involved, she was angry at first but she eventually started to be more relaxed and all her
Music has played an essential aspect in my life. I have struggled in the past with discovering who I am as an individual. Music was the one thing I could relate to throughout fifth to tenth grade. As I matured so did my music. The songs were full of empowerment and had an energetic style. “Don’t be so hard on yourself” by Jess Glynne is the theme song because the lyrics explain the struggles of discovering oneself, how every individual gets knocked down and urges me to be myself.
Through the words "you have nothing but this [moment]" (245) it is made apparent that one's past is rendered moot by a change of mental state, a change to the now. This makes the listeners feel as if they are
There is a general theme in this story of how living in the past can lead to not being prepared for the future, and it is visited numerous times throughout
‘No matter gay, straight, or bi, I was born to survive’. In the words of lady GaGa herself it doesn’t matter who you marry, what your gender is or what’s you race you just need to accept others and yourself. Lady GaGa’s song ‘Born this Way’ informs others about self-acceptance in her new album ‘Born this way’. This song is about people abusing others and reflecting badly on them self because of their race, gender and choice in who they marry. Lady GaGa expresses her thoughts about people’s issues to say it doesn’t matter who you are because you were born that way.
Life moves on, just as time does. You don’t notice the insignificant changes in your daily life. Changes that are too small or too “unimportant” are filtered out by our underdeveloped sense of perception. These changes can drastically define one’s image as well as character but yet the level of difficulty in noticing these changes is beyond expectations. Something so obvious suddenly becomes oblivious. This idea of obliviousness revolves around my day to day life in ways I would never imagine. The most unnoticed feature about me is my apparent accent.
I chose the famous and well known song, “I Will Survive,” because it tells me that I will survive the 7th grade and school there after! This song was sung in 1978 by Gloria Gaynor, an African American women. This catchy song was a huge hit during the disco era and has a medium to up beat tempo. “I will survive,” best represents me because I will survive homework, sports, and school work, although at this time in life it does not feel like it! My favorite part of the song is when it says that “Oh, no, not I, I will survive,” because it shows that I will never give up and keep trying new things and that I will pull through. School is like a battlefield, having your ups and your downs. This song is also about friendship, love , broken hearts,
Babies do have a unique language developing system than other animals. Basically, animals don 't have as many ways of communication as human babies do. However, animals do have ways to communicate. Instead of language, animals use symbols and signs. Some specific animals like dolphins even have the ability to use sonar when they communicate. That is something even people could not do. People now might have the sonar technology with facilities, but that is not something that was born inside us. So animals communicate in the similar way as human using their unique “language.” They just are not in the same way cause their ways are far simpler than that of human. Like babies, animals also have ways to express emotion and communicate through
