Interview Analysis : James Ramos

Introduction For this project I have chosen to interview a close acquaintance by the name of James Ramos. He is a 17-year-old senior in high school, and he intends to graduate from Mesquite high, a public school in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas. James has attended Mesquite high since he enrolled as a freshman. James and I first met at Mesquite Presbyterian Church, and we happened to both be attending a convention on youth’s empowerment. At the convention, James had given me his contact information and since then we have maintained close contact through text messages and calls. James and I agreed we should attend a couple seminars together over weekends and breaks. I established that James would be an excellent candidate to interview for this particular assignment. After a brief text message exchange, James agrees to get together at a local church to discuss the interview. James was a great choice for me because we have been casual friends and we both share the similar interests. Besides, while his Erickson’s development stage is adolescence, mine is early adulthood. Normative Age-graded Life Influences Normative age-graded influences are those determinants that stay common for individuals in a particular age category. In a sense, anyone reaching that age is expected to undergo such experiences. For James, I focused on his finishing high school and the uncertainty of what arises ahead.
