My choice for interviewing was Manuel Gomez, Director of The Public Works Department for the City of Irvine. The department is responsible for developing, building and maintaining the City's infrastructure, which include streetscapes, open space, city parks, athletic fields, eucalyptus windrow trees, bike trails, roadways, traffic signals and fleet services. I choose the director because my career is in facility maintenance, unfortunately my interview was reassigned to Jay Ponce, Senior Management Analysis for the department, who reports directly to Director Gomez. While I was looking forward to an interview with Mr. Gomez, I was not disappointed with Mr. Ponce as he turned out to be an interesting person with an interesting public service …show more content…
Ponce attended trade school where he received an accounting certificate and later an associate's degree. He started his public service career in accounting with city of Santa Ana. Mr. Ponce didn’t set out to be a public servant, his career began at the urging of his sister-in-law who worked for the city of Santa Ana at that time. His career with the City of Irvine began in June of 2007 as a Management Analyst I to assist with the implementation of the City’s new Computerized Maintenance Management System. He was subsequently promoted to Management Analyst II in 2010 and In July 2013, he was promoted to his current position of Senior Management Analyst, where he interacts with the city’s finance commission on behalf of the Public Works Department and is responsible for the finances of the department’s ten divisions. Jay states that he provides a monthly report identifying our financial status in terms of where we are in truth to where we budgeted and what our projected expenditures were (personal communication, April 5, 2016). Ponce takes pride in his role along with the department’s role in the success of the city. He feels that the department plays a vital function in the aesthetics, operations, and adherence to the city’s master plan. Although Mr. Ponce has been able to navigate public service from certificated accountant to Senior Management Analysis, reporting directly to the public works director, he regrets that he never attained a bachelor’s degree and contemplates where his career would have taken him had he done so. Mr. Ponce is fifty-five years old and looks forward to retiring in the next five to seven years. He made note that although he takes pride in the city he is not a resident, he and his partner of thirty-one years owns a home in nearby Laguna
For my interview, I met with Judie Crudo, the Human Resource Director of St. Anthony Foundation (St. Anthony’s). She has worked at the organization as a director for the past 25 years. Prior to St. Anthony’s, she worked in Human Resources for Macy’s and a small startup company. Her desire to work closely in employee relations is what brought her to the non-profit sector after 20 years in the private sector.

“He amassed great wealth for Egypt. As a great ruler and brilliant general.” (ancient-egypt-online.com) Some may know him for any of his great and noble acts but to most he is known for providing gigantic peace throughout Egypt also known as, the golden age! But we won't just be exploring just how great the deeds were that he had accomplished. We will also be exploring how he never lost a battle, or how he was a fair captor.
This can lead to: lack of concentration, interview lasting longer or be terminated, which can result in unreliable answers. To possibly avoid these I could: go in a quiet room, allow extra time and avoid sensitive questions. I will be doing interviews with teachers that teach visually impaired children rather than the child because the child may feel uncomfortable talking one-to-one with an unknown adult and yet I can still get the answers needed through the
The elected official that I choose to interview is the Mayor of Avon Lake, Greg Zilka. I choose Mayor Zilka because although I don’t live in the city of Avon Lake, I work in the city at a pizza shop, and I appreciate how beautiful of a city Avon Lake is. I emailed the mayor’s office and within a day I got a response back, and after about ten emails between the mayor’s assistant and myself, the interview was planned. I appreciated how Mr. Zilka through his assistant worked with me and my schedule to try to find a time best for me to conduct the interview, and how he was willing to meet in person, call, or email me, to which we agreed to a phone call. Mr. Zilka provided answers to most of my questions, but because of a scheduled

Recent advancements in technology offer the organizations of today and the future boundless opportunities for improvements in service delivery. Although experts agree that the alignment of technology and the overall business strategy is both necessary and imperative, no clear path to optimum alignment exists. Christopher Nuckles, a IT Director I interviewed demonstrated full awareness of this fact. he and the company’s CIO, Matt Carey, and the executive IT leaders and displayed optimism the “interconnected retail strategy” they have for the company will ensure that Home Depot remains the product authority for home improvement. As part of the technical team that developed, enhanced, or supported several of the technological systems at Home Depot, Nuckles believes that the key to a successful technological future is innovation. Nuckles recognizes that the biggest hurdle for the Home Depot technology is the emerging e-commerce and he adds that Home Depot is ready for the boom. He explains that plans are underway to optimize the Home Depot mobile application entirely and make it available on all platforms so that the company remains relevant as technology keeps advancing.
The individual I chose to interview is Mrs. Felicia Colbert. She is a current assistant principal at my school. Mrs. Colbert’s experience familiarity extends from a classroom instructor to instructional educators as an assistant director. Her capability surpasses 15 years of service in and out the core content of science. Her experience in administration includes two years at middle school level and five years at a high school level as an assistant principal. I designated Mrs. Colbert as my professional to interview because I recently completed my administrator practicum under her supervision. Throughout those six months as an intern, I got to analyze just how much of an expert she is in administration leadership. Therefore,
Thousands of couples all over the U.S are unable to start their own family. Many of these couples are desperate to have children of there own, and long to be able to have a family. In some instances, adoption may be an option for these couples. Adoption is the legal responsibility and care of a child that is not one’s by birth. (Source F) In the United Sates, there are several factors that go into the process of adopting a child. Factors such as the extreme cost, the complex of the process, and the variation of adoption laws, in all different states. To make this process easier, I propose the government intervenes and regulates adoption, makes the process simpler, and sets a minimum standard of adoption laws for states.
Conducting interviews is fundamental as a case manager. In order to understand more about good interviewing, I decided to watch an interview about an addict mother conducted by Dr. Phil. While watching this interview, I made some notes on attitudes and characteristics that I considered important for good interviewing. The characteristics will be presented in the following paragraphs.

I chose to interview Randy Bedsaul. He is an older gentleman who responds in a genuine manner. Since he works in my maintenance shop and I interact with him on a daily basis it was easy to ask him to do this interview. He responded quickly to my request and even stayed after work one day to help me out. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. I really appreciate individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to help others in regards to personal/professional growth.
For a successful child interview to occur, the child(ren) have to feel that they are cared for and focused on. They need their voice to be heard in court. A thematic analysis of an interview was used to help students develop an understanding of the role of an RC. This role is dynamic and challenging; it offers great opportunities to grow and work in an academic team based environment that fosters constant learning. Often RCs play a significant role in the process of bringing a project from conception to completion which requires a variety of qualifications and leadership qualities. An inductive approach to this process, beginning with data collection and analysis, allowed me to consider specific aspects of the topic and progress on to more general concepts. Eventually, I was able to discover connections between existing knowledge and the data I analyzed. The finalized themes included Qualifications; Role of Team Leader; Rewards and Challenges.
