Interview With Parents Essay
When my parents were young they both honored and revered their parents in similar and different ways, but they knew when they didn’t honor or revere them they had consequences. When my dad was ten, his father passed away, and he knew that his life would never be the same. Since he was the youngest, he felt that he had an obligation to revere and honor his mom who had to raise three kids all by herself. My dad would honor and revere her by helping around the house while she was at work, participate in Jewish holidays with her, and try to be respectful towards her. If he was not respectful he would get a physical punishment. My mom was different, she had two parents who were less strict. When my mom was a teen she would have the same consequences I did. She would have to listen to them, spend time with them, represent them well in public, and be the best person that she is capable of being. If she did not follow these guidelines, she would get privileges taken away like her car or not being allowed to go to parties. When they tell me this I think to myself different ways to strive for this goal. In my opinion, this relates to all things. Whether it be on the court or at school, I know that I am a Frey and that I have to represent my family in the greatest possible way. One of the most important things to my family is that I get good grades. They think that school will always be the number one priority. I feel that if I get good grades I will make them proud. Although I know that if I do not get good grades my family will be disappointed, and that is why I revere them. If I don’t do these things I will get things taken away such as my phone, computer, parties, and TV. By representing myself well and taking school seriously I feel I honor and revere
