Discussions 1. Senior Capstone Experience - Week 7 Discussion Assess your self-talk for a few hours. Write down all your negative comments and then list your positive ones. Would you say you are more positive or negative in your approach to life and its challenges? Share examples. I strongly believe that my most negative comment would be the fact that I am a perfectionist. I just always have to have things go my way. If things do not go as planned, I see myself as a total failure. I tend to exaggerate the importance of insignificant events, such as a small mistake. The reason I left my last job was because I got married to an Active Duty Member of the United States Marine Corps and we were required to move 4 hours away. What are you passionate about? I'm passionate about making a difference. When I'm involved with a project at work I want to do my best to achieve success. I feel the same way about what I do in my personal life. If you know your boss is 100% wrong about something how would you handle it? My prior supervisor was more easy-going and if I told him, "You know, I think it might work better if I do what you asked in such and such a way," he would say "Okay, try it." How do you evaluate success? I evaluate success in different ways. At work, it is meeting the goals set by my supervisors and my fellow workers.
