For my health care interview assignment I chose to interview Mayra Cruz, Certified Nurses Assistant. She works at Cuidado Casero Home Health and Hospice at 1617 E. Missouri Ave, El Paso, Texas. In my interview with her she described her job duties, her patients and how she interacts with others in her environment. In addition, she identified the length of time she has been in her current position, her career path that has led her to this position as well as her experience in the health care industry. Her education and what requirements were necessary for her certification. She also wonders if the education she received proper and
The Licensed Practical Nurse said that the education that she obtained prepared her for the various facets of her job. It was more helpful in some aspects of my job than it is in others jobs. With the shortage of medical doctors, the LPN and the nurse are playing a larger role in patient care. Because demand for LPN's is strong and growing, you often have your choice of full-time jobs. LPN positions are available in hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' offices, and home health care. The annual salary of a LPN can reach $45,000 plus benefits, depending on your responsibilities. You can choose your work
There were many options to interview for this assignment, after careful thought on whom to interview, I decided to interview someone outside of my work environment. I chose to interview a healthcare director who is much energized towards making change and being the best leader they can be. I liked the idea of interviewing this individual for the experience of having some awareness into an organization which I knew very little about, it was insightful to see leadership within a different frame of reference than I typically see within my work environment. The person I met with asked not to be named directly, his title is a director level at a large healthcare organization. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ferris State and a Master’s degree (I don’t recall the college) in healthcare administration. He is a very energetic person and is very clear in the importance of good leadership. He was quick to start our meeting and take the lead by emphasizing to me how critical leadership is and that it’s a critical component towards the success of any organization, effective leaders help ensure that everyone works together seamlessly and they are much more likely to achieve the organization’s goals and success. A successful leader will be vital in motivating employees, communicating strategic directions and achieving organizational goals, without a good leader all of the organizations resources are less effective than they could be.
There are many different professions that one can choose when entering the healthcare field. Nursing is a very popular and needed profession that is vital to care for patients. For this paper I have chosen to interview my younger cousin who currently works for the VA Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Unit. I will describe the targeted facility and unit she works for, the type of work done within her unit, any interesting, informative, or specific information related to the chosen unit which makes it unique, and a comprehensive description of my cousin, and her responsibilities.
For this assignment, I am interviewing my cousin who happens to be a nurse in Arizona. The reason I picked her instead of someone local is because she was someone who I never would have thought would ever become a nurse, much less graduate from high school. She was always getting into trouble, causing trouble, and just seemed as though her life was headed nowhere. She ended up married and pregnant at 18 and a couple of years after that she was working as a nurse at a Sharp Hospital in San Diego before moving to Arizona. I am so proud of her because not only did she turn her life around, she really does know her job inside and out. If I have a medical question,
The characterization of a leader can differ and the foundation is dependent on ones goals, culture, industry, and more. Consequently, in my opinion the primary attributes of a leader are being teachable, selfless, and ultimately the ability to implement strategies. The principal component of being a leader is taking the skillset that you have and utilizing it to succeed in a specified and particular lane. Essentially, being an expert at something that solves a problem is a great example of being a leader.
Misty Urban has been a friend of my parents for a very long time, so when I found out I needed to interview a healthcare professional I knew exactly who to go to. Misty is currently employed at ViaQuest Home Health and Hospice. Getting to where she is now was not easy, in fact she said “While I took pre-requisites for nursing, which took seven LONG years, because I took one class at a time until I had to go full-time for my RN.” While taking her pre-requisite courses she was also working at the Somerset Dialysis Center and worked there for almost 9 years. Before that Misty held jobs at Somerset Ambulance for 11 years, and also at the Somerset Hospital Emergency Department as a Registrar/technician. Misty told me that she was a candy-stripper at the Somerset Hospital when she was thirteen years old and that is what made her love the medical field. Then when she turned sixteen she took classes at the Somerset Vo-Tech to become an Emergency Medical Technician. “At 16, I was also a fireman too. I became the first female in the Somerset Fire Department and the first to obtain my firefighter 1 status” Misty said. When Misty received her nursing degree she went on a medical mission trip to Paraguay. When she returned home from her trip she start to work at The McGinley house, a home for intellectually disabled adults. Within the next could of weeks she will begin her training in hospice with ViaQuest. “I love the medical field, I 've been

Through examples, a child would say that a leader is the father in a family, the principal of a school, the CEO of a company, the president of a country, etc. And they all would need to possess the quality that makes them so – leadership.
Leader is a person who leads a team or organization. Every person can become leader but not a good leader. If a person wants to be a good leader he must have some leader ship qualities, as a human beings everyone has their own set-of ideas how to play a leader role. Here I gave an example.
Leaders is a person who have a conduct and power in organization and made the decision to make sure achieve a goals. Leaders also have a power to influence on the organization to follow what the decision made on him. There are three major type of the leader such as autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire. Leader must have a good skill and knowledge to conduct the organization very well in the work. (Northouse's (2007, p3).
If you could in your own words define a leader what would you say a leader was? A leader could be considered many different things depending on who you ask. According to Merriam Webster’s dictionary a leader is a person or thing who leads. That’s a pretty broad definition. Sanjiv Kumar defines leadership as the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals (Kumar, 2014). BusinessDictionary.com defines a leader as a person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. Leaders can be found in every setting. Examples of leaders include parents, teachers, religious leaders, managers, or even a band director.
The most important quality of a leader is definitely courage. A leader has to step up in order for him/ her to make a change. A leader with courage has the ability to do anything that is right for his supporters. One great example of a leader with courage was Martin Luther King Jr, he did everything for change in the south. He was arrested many times for his protests because he thought that everyone should be equal no matter what race or ethnicity. Martin Luther King Jr. sacrificed his life so that everyone could have equal rights and no segregation just because of skin color. Without Courage, there can be no leader, a leader requires boldness.
So, first and foremost quality of a leader is not only to see at high things but also make the people see and strive for the same thing. For this purpose, they have to monitor even minor things by making people feel valued and inspired. A good
