I don’t understand why so many people only have one role model when they’re surrounded by many inspiring people. A role model is a person who is looked up to because of their values, attitude and behavior. Living in Barrow, Alaska, we Inupiat are very reliant on our traditional way of life. Our Inupiaq language is dying out, and not many people want to learn it; but the ones that do want to learn have a hard time because there is very few that fluently speak Inupiaq. Luckily, I want to learn our language and I have people in my life to teach me. It is hard to choose just one role model, so I narrowed it down to two very important people that inspire me. My aaka, the Inupiaq word for grandmother, is one of my role models. She has taught me
I try to base my courage of my role model of courage. My role model of courage is Dorothy Day. Dorothy Day was born on November 8, 1897. She had 3 brothers and one sister. Later on she got a scholarship to attend The University of Illinois. She then moved to New York. Much like Blessed Mother of Teresa Dorothy set up a care home for the shelterless and needy. She would provide shelter, water, food, and clothes. Dorothy made a sacrifice living like the homeless so she could care for them. Dorothy did not have much money either. Dorothy was later arrested for her actions, even though she was helping. Dorothy Day died on November 29. 1980. She used a great amount of courage. She sacrificed her life for others. Dorothy Day is a great role model, teaching us to put others before
Who is a role model in your life? What have they done to impact you? In “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” by Ken Kesey, we meet Randle McMurphy, a young man who tests the limits of Nurse Ratched and causes a change to the everyday life of the patients from the mental hospital. Throughout the book, McMurphy was a role model for the other patients. They saw him as a leader and quickly followed in his footsteps.
A role model is an irreplaceable person who often has a following of people who attempt to emulate their actions and reactions. They often are in places of authority or, rather, noble in the eyes of their attendants. Role models yield a lot of value in many societies proven through literature in “The Color of Water” by James McBride, observations of mentors both in history and the present, and my personal experience with leaders who I appreciate.
It is really hard to be a role model but Lupe from the short story Marble champ by Gary Soto is a great role model because she is a good sport,a hard worker, and above all, an intelligent person.
Most people have a role model. Who is your role model? For me mine is Cam Newton. He is the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
I love to inspire others and be a positive role model. My older sister is a positive role model in my life. She is a college student attending St. Edward’s University and following her dreams. I strive to be a role model for my younger sister as my older sister was for me. I also want to be a good role model for my peers, my school and my community.
Growing up I had a role model. He is the most inspirational person I have ever had the chance of meeting. He took care of me when I was sick or when my parents would have to work late into the night, and honestly I am proud to say that this inspirational person is my older brother, Trey Hampton. Not only has my brother been there for me through thick and thin he even managed to introduced me to one of my greatest passions.
My role model would be Ethen Polson because he wasn’t that type of guy that was always talking to other teacher and not giving any of the kids’ attention, he was always watching for kids that needed help. I would love to be like that. Ethen was always looking for ways to improve his tumbling abilities. He still is, he did a backflip every day for a year and he completed it. I think he is doing it again this yar. Ethen is my role model because he was always watching for people in need, he always looked for ways to improve, and he was kind to all of his
A person to look up to and follow their example is the definition of role model. Lupe, from the Marble Champ, by Gary Soto is a role model. Lupe is a role model because Lupe is a good sport when she is playing marbles, Lupe is hardworking when practicing for marbles, and above all Lupe is smart and strategic. That’s why I think Lupe is a role model
Example: I have always been interested in cars. My father taught himself how to fix a lot of minor problems with cars, and I learned a lot from watching him. I have also learned from my work experience at a couple of service stations about how to work with customers. A lot of people do not think fixing cars is a great profession, but I have seen that a well-run shop can be satisfying and profitable for the owners.
Role models are individuals that set upon a good example. You went above that, threw your own life in a ditch just to save those who cannot possibly think twice of what they do. The unthinking ways of a teenager can lead to a torn family, or an illegal issue. If only we payed more attention to the ones who stand so much taller than us. We could learn to stand just as tall, or even taller.
Since I was young I have always looked up to my dad. The reason why my dad is my role model is because he has always helped me stay on the right path and still does. My dad is strong, independent, determined, motivated, and so much more. Those are the qualities I want. Some I have, some I don’t, but I’m working on it.
I would have to say my role model would be Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood cares about the world and the people in it.
My role model would have to be, Ashley Graham. Ashley Graham has taught me how to love yourself no matter what you look like. I admire her for being courageous and not giving up when someone told her to. Loving myself is a long lasting impact she has had on me and others.
An effective leader and role model in my life was my high school guidance counselor Angela Kieffer. During high school I was the definition of teen angst, and felt as though I didn’t have people who understood my thoughts and feelings like she did. Having an person to talk to that isn’t one of your parents or peers; was essential to my success in high school. Mrs. Kieffer has continued to influence my life to this day, as I am now studying to be a high school guidance counselor so I can be a leader for the youth of today.
