One of the biggest trends spurred by the health and wellness revolution is the rise of athleisure. Athleisure is the movement in the fashion world the combines style with athletic clothing. Many men and women are now dressing in sneakers and yoga pants in non-athletic setting. Athleisure wear has become increasingly acceptable in a wide variety of social situations and has bred the success of brands like Lululemon (LULU). The growing popularity in health and wellness goes further than persona satisfaction. These trends are sweeping through Corporate America with a number of companies racing to grab a piece of the pie. Lululemon, Nike (NKE) and Whole Foods (WFM) are common names tied to this space but we are starting to see surprising names like Costco (COST) and Amazon (AMZN) challenging the status quo.
