Is Abortion Really the Right thing to Do?
Melissa Ohden is an abortion survivor. Her mother tried to abort her as a child. By some miracle, Melissa conquered the procedure and prospers today to tell her story and encourage and embolden others. Melissa is a now a thriving 34 year old social worker and has assisted innumerable people. If her mother's procedure would have been successful, numerous people would not have received the immense honor of meeting Melissa. Melissa grew up with an affectionate adoptive family. She found out she was a failed abortion at 14 years old. She immediately wanted to reconcile with her biological parents, and is now in contact with both sides. If you were to ask any abortion survivor if they wished that the procedure would have been successful, the answer would be unanimous. Abortion is nefarious.
Abortion is killing a virtuous, defenseless baby. The performance of abortion was legalized in 1973. Since then, 56 million babies have been lost. That is 155 lives an hour, or one baby every 24 seconds. By the time you finish reading this paper, 4 to 5 more precious babies will have passed away. How is a baby supposed to defend itself when it relies on the mother to keep him protected?

As of right now, between one and two million families around the world are awaiting for a new member of their family to adore and cherish. That same child that you might not have been able to sustain and care for could become the daughter or son of a family unable to have children. You are taking your ability to have children for granted, while every one in eight couples have fertility issues. By putting your child up for adoption, you are giving your child a chance at life. Whatever that child will make of it. By ending your pregnancy, you are taking away every chance they could have
There are situations that even the actual birth of the baby will cause a serious problem to the mother. If we think about the case of a young teenage girl who get pregnant early, or the situation of a middle school girl who was rape, we would see it's very dangerous to force her to keep the baby. There could be serious repercussions if she does not get the nutrition she needs during her pregnancy or correct pre-natal care. Death rate during birth and chances for a premature or otherwise unhealthy baby is also dramatically higher among young mothers. We have no right to ask her to take a great danger just to give birth to unwanted child. We should respect her decision whether or not she will keep the
The ongoing dispute of abortion has condemned the idea of women aborting their unborn child. Whether it be lack of support, critical physical or mental health, rape, or not being ready for such responsibility - all women have a reason for having an abortion. Therefore, women should have the free will to do what proves necessary and beneficial to themselves and their pregnancy.
Ever since the case of Roe v. Wade in 1973, abortion has been one of the most contentious issues in our society. In some cases people think abortion is murder, in others, it’s reasonable for some cases. Then there are people who use it just to take advantage of it. The legal stance of abortion is a hot topic in today’s society.
In this article, it talked about the 1973 Roe v. Wade. The guidelines stated that the state could not prohibit abortions unless “necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.” After fetal viability, Roe v. Wade did not allow women to abort the child. Roe v. Wade gave women the protected right with consultation with a doctor to choose on aborting in the early stages. About half of all American women have an unintended pregnancy occur and one-third will have an abortion by the age of forty-five. There was 1.21 million abortions in 2005 and 1.31 million in 2000. Overall, since 1980 there has been over 60 million. Anti-Abortion Groups say that the definition of abortion is murder and I agree with this. Another argument that anti-abortion groups say is “abortion constitutes murder and view their mission of saving babies as noble and God's work.” This source shows statistics and how many abortions are occurring in the United States. This needs to stop; it is “cruel and unusual”. This helped me see how many more people we could have in the United States if abortion was
This could be avoided by examining the other alternatives for unwanted babies, such as: parenting, interim foster care or adoption. Parenting is a challenging option but a tremendously rewarding experience; it could turn out better than how a person expected it. Interim foster care is a secure environment with parents who are skilled at caring for babies and provide a loving and nurturing home for a newborn infant. Ultimately, mothers in these situations usually choose adoption because they believe it is best for their children. They acknowledge that adoption is not rejection or abandonment, but rather a caring, responsible act. It shows the mother’s love since she does not have the proper support for the child, therefore she allows the child to reach their full potential on earth while growing up as strong and independent adults with another
In 1973 abortion became legalized. More than fifty-four million unborn children have died since then, which turns out to one baby killed every twenty seconds. Some agree that since American’s disapprove of abortion, it should not come from their tax dollars. Nearly one in every four pregnancies will result in abortion. American’s argue a difference between killing an unborn child and killing a toddler exists. Both defenseless human beings lives are ended.
Jewels Green had abortion when she was younger and a few days after she was so overwhelmed grief, guilt and she couldn't take it anymore so she attempted suicide. Some states have already made it so no one even has the option to have an abortion. Firstly, mother that have abortions can have many effects. Another reason is because the baby has no choose to live or not. Above all, there are many other options. I strongly believe that it is wrong to get an abortion.
Everyday there are approximately 125,000 abortions performed all over the world. This is 125,000 innocent children whose lives were ended for them by their own parents. Abortion is cruel and unfair and should be illegal everywhere around the world. With abortion being cruel and unfair, it is completely immoral.
I believe that abortion is wrong and it’s a social problem. I think that it is wrong to have an abortion because life begins at conception. Abortion is no different to murder as it is the act of taking a human life. As in California penal code 187 says murder is an unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus with malice. I think the above definition is an easier and less aggressive way to say that abortion is the murdering of a human being. No civilized society should permit any person to intentionally hurt or take the life of another human without any type of punishment, and abortion should not be different.
Abortion is the act of killing a defenseless human. Pregnancy has been regarded as a problem because teens and non teens, especially unmarried, are seen as incapable of providing children with their needs in today’s world, because of this, abortion is chosen. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.
There are many reasons and scenarios to why people may have difficulties in raising a child. Financial reasons may be one of the major reasons people consider abortions or adoptions. It cost a fairly decent amount of money to raise a child and provide for it. In some tragic cases women decide to have an abortion or an adoption due to rape. In such a case it is almost conceivable to consider that as being an exception. Premarital relations and teenage pregnancies are other reasons as to why one would choose either of these alternatives. No teenager wants to be a parent or be forced to grow up while they are still in their youth. In today’s society, the
Abortion is defined as “The removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end the pregnancy” (dictionary.com). However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as easy as the definition listed above. However, similar to most things in life, a statement or opinion is never right nor wrong, but simply left open for clarification. Those who are against abortion believe that abortion is the murder of innocent human beings who aren’t given a chance at life and the ability to function as a normal individual. However, those who are for abortion believe that it is a women’s right to choose what she does to not only her baby but
Every human being is a person. Every person has the right of life here on Earth. Abortion kills an innocent human being. Abortion by definition means the deliberate termination of a human being. Deliberate by definition means intentional. Abortion is the killing of innocent people who have no say in the ending of their life. Why are 42 million human beings deliberately killed worldwide each year? How is this be justified? It’s not justifiable!
All around the world, unborn babies are being killed everyday. Abortion has become one of the most common operations in the US today. People that are “pro-choice” believe that it is acceptable for a woman to have the choice to abort her baby or not. They say that it is the legal right of a woman. They believe that a baby is not yet alive until it has been born. It is argued that a woman should be able to do what is best for her future, health, and body. On the other side of the spectrum lies people that are “pro-life”. They believe that human life begins at the time of conception and that killing what is unborn is murder. They defend this with arguments from science, as well as scripture. Pro-choice believes in abortion because it will benefit the majority of women and possibly families. They are looking out for themselves and their best interests. It is Utilitarianism as well as egoism. They believe it is morally acceptable to end the life of the unborn. It will provide the majority with an unwanted pregnancy and a way out of a tough situation. Pro-life is against abortion because of a religious authority and because it will benefit a majority (unborn babies). They believe it is morally unacceptable to end the life of the unborn.
One day, Socrates went to the park to train for a 5k run he had signed up for. After running two miles, he decided to stop for a short break. As he was sitting on a bench, a young woman sat angrily down next to him to receive a phone call.
