Is Abortion Really the Right thing to Do?
Melissa Ohden is an abortion survivor. Her mother tried to abort her as a child. By some miracle, Melissa conquered the procedure and prospers today to tell her story and encourage and embolden others. Melissa is a now a thriving 34 year old social worker and has assisted innumerable people. If her mother's procedure would have been successful, numerous people would not have received the immense honor of meeting Melissa. Melissa grew up with an affectionate adoptive family. She found out she was a failed abortion at 14 years old. She immediately wanted to reconcile with her biological parents, and is now in contact with both sides. If you were to ask any abortion survivor if they wished that the procedure would have been successful, the answer would be unanimous. Abortion is nefarious.
Abortion is killing a virtuous, defenseless baby. The performance of abortion was legalized in 1973. Since then, 56 million babies have been lost. That is 155 lives an hour, or one baby every 24 seconds. By the time you finish reading this paper, 4 to 5 more precious babies will have passed away. As of right now, between one and two million families around the world are awaiting for a new member of their family to adore and cherish. That same child that you might not have been able to sustain and care for could become the daughter or son of a family unable to have children. You are taking your ability to have children for granted, while every one in eight couples have fertility issues. By putting your child up for adoption, you are giving your child a chance at life. Whatever that child will make of it. By ending your pregnancy, you are taking away every chance they could have
