We might disagree on the causes of global warming; however, we cannot ignore that it is happening. Although we still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting; as a result, sea levels are rising. Scientist predict more extreme weather in the coming decades, in fact, droughts will probably be more common. Also, flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released, which could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes and also it might be a natural occurrence. Nevertheless, we must find ways to save our planet.
The Earth has been around for 4.5 billion years. On the other hand, humans have been around for over two thousand years. The Earth has been through lots of climate change but none like the one we are experiencing. The ice glaciers in Antarctica are melting faster than ever. Sea levels are increasing more than ever while on land, we are recording record high temperatures and droughts. In addition, many places around the world are experiencing floods more than normal. These disasters have been a hot topic in the news and the United States presidential debates. There are the Democrats who acknowledges these facts and the Republican who denies these facts. Most people have accepted the fact that carbon dioxide, CO2, are the primary contribution to climate change but some people have yet accept it. I believe climate change is real.
Climate change is a change of our Earth’s climate throughout a long period of time. An example of climate change is the glaciers melting in the Arctic. When the glaciers it signals that our Earth is warming. This is a very serious issue because if the Earth is warming it can cause more intense storms or make it easier for natural disasters. Natural disasters are already a big enough problem as they are. Climate change is something we can not throw to the side. This is something that will eventually have very negative effects of life. In this century the Earth’s temperature has raised about 1 degree Fahrenheit. Even the littlest change like this makes a very big difference.
One of the biggest problems about the topic of climate change is that people do not understand the meaning of climate change or what problems that it can cause if it is untreated. Firstly, the definition of climate is the change of weather over a period of time. The confusion of the definitions of weather, global warming and climate are partly to blame for the misunderstanding of what climate actually is. Weather is the daily change of the atmosphere. For example, a change is weather could be considered as a 72 degree day and the following day a thunderstorm. An example of climate would be data showing the rainfall over a period of time and interpreting what the data say. Some data could say that the 2015 year had less rainfall compared to
Climate Change is a change in the weather patterns and a change is called a climate change when it lasts for a decade to millions of years. Climate change is also known as a change in average weather conditions or the change in the weather for a longer term. I believe that human activities are primarily responsible for the climate change. We the human beings are doing lots of things that can affect very badly to our earth. We are producing the greenhouse gases which are creating global warming. Climate change is causing the Arctic ice cap to melt, sea level to rise, acidity level of the ocean to increase, the temperature of the ocean to increase, melting of the Glaciers, weather system to change, more droughts, change in precipitation, and Permafrost to melt.
Greenhouse gases are the reason why climate change has affected the environment for many years. Changes that can happen in the environment could be how cold is the temperature today, how much sunlight is being produced during the day or is there enough clean water. The environment gets affected when “the atmosphere traps the heat radiate into the Earth toward space” (NASA 1). When that happens the environment will change the “impacts on human systems which involve food production, local livelihoods, and health” issues (Environment and Climate Change Canada). Different type of effects that can happen to the earth could be “sea levels, droughts, floods and other extreme weathers, climate change ecosystem and extinction threats” (Greenpeace International 1). Other living things such as insect, bird, or plant will be extinct or will move to different places in the world and this will affect human health issues (National Geographic 1). These issues will cause trouble to the earth’s environment, and it's not possible to know when the problems will turn more worst. Ice melting from the Arctic has increased, due to climate change and it will harm the polar bears, seals, and penguins (National Geographic 1). My grandmother has grown vegetables in her backyard, and as the climate changes, this affects the growing process of the food. In the summer when I go outside the temperature has increased from the radiated of the sun shining towards me.
This climate change can adversely affect the earth’s sensitive ecosystems. It has been linked to quality of human life and extinctions of plant and animal species. First, it affects people. Depending on their location, people may be affected by disease, rising sea levels, or extreme disasters such as more frequent and intensive flooding, droughts, storms, etc. In particular, the impact of these effects will be greatest on those with the least financial resources, like LDCs (Less Developed Countries). Secondly, it increases extinctions. For example, the North Atlantic right whale is at risk of extinction. The whales eat plankton. Climate change is affecting the ocean’s temperature. The warmer water contains less plankton. Less plankton means less food for the whales.
Not only will climate affect the ecosystems but will also affect the animals. Climate change affects habitats for thousands of species. Animals that are affected by this would either have to adapt to the new environment or roam other places. Climate change can change life cycles for animals and
Climate change is an extremely serious threat because it affects every living thing on the planet. Climate change can have destructive effects like causing extreme weather events, ocean acidification and increasing global temperature. These are only few of the effects of climate change and if it continues can even cause the extinction of humanity. Much of the scientific community agrees that our use of fossil fuels is the cause and our continued dependency will most definitely lead to problems. Although there is evidence that human activity to blame for climate change some people deny its very existence. Some of these people have perspectives that make sense, but lack scientific evidence to support their arguments. There should not be any debate or skepticism surrounding climate change because human activity is the problem.
Climate change is a fake. Many people say we have climate change, it’s because we use too much fossil fuels. We produce too much carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases. And then we have global warming. But actually, we feel the climate change or global warming it’s because human existence too short. Earth was formed around four and a half billion years ago. But human just appear only a sudden.
The UNFCC also defines climate change as “a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over time periods.”
The planet has been experiencing considerable climate change for the last several decades. There have been many explanations toward the main causes of the increased warming of the planet. On one hand are the environmentalists who believe that the major cause of this increased warming of the planet is the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere induced by human activities. On the other hand, the scientists believe that there are natural causes of global climate change. While the supporters of the man-made theory of global climate change reason that the major greenhouse gas causing global warming is carbon dioxide, the advocates of natural causes
Many animals around the world are severely affected by climate change. Climate change is the rise in average temperatures on Earth’s surface. When humans interact with fossil fuels, which are coal, natural gases, and oil, they release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere and can have a great effect on climate change. These changes include rising sea levels, landscapes being more prone to wildfires, and the pollen season length getting longer. Although these may be important, I think that the most important cause of climate change is how severely animals are affected by this. Animals like polar bears, snow leopards, and the Orang-utan struggle to survive everyday in result of climate
Over the years there has been a lot of controversy on if climate change is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved. There is a constant debate among scientist on if human actions are contributing the changing of earth’s climates. Climate change is defined as the change in average weather patterns for a specific region or Earth as a whole. This could include the change in an average temperature for a city or the amount a rainfall it receives (Dunbar, 2015). The main difference between weather and climate is the period of time specific patterns are recorded. Weather patterns are looked at over a much shorter period of time, meaning that these patterns are going to be more sporadic and change more frequently. Climate on the other had is recorded over a much longer period of time and usually show less drastic changes in patterns when compared to weather. Some people may argue that climate change is not an issue because Earth’s temperature is always changing do to natural effects. What people don’t realize is that human activity has effected the rate that earth’s temperature is changing, and just the smallest changes can lead to drastic consequences (Dunbar, 2015).
“There are many different views on climate change, and how people view it. Climate change is a debated topic by many different researchers and scientists. Some people think we are causing it, some people think modern technology is causing it, and some people think that it isn’t even happening at all. Creationists don’t deny climate change, but what they do deny is, The worldview-based assumptions that determine secular scientists’ interpretations and conclusions about the evidence” (Foley, Avery. “Science Confirms Climate Change!”). As Christians we need to use the earth in ways that benefit humans because we have been given dominion over the earth. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” (New International
