Is climate change naturally or man-made?
First of all, for anyone that does not know what climate change is, it is a change in the world’s climate. A lot of people think weather and climate is the same thing but it is not. The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time. Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time. Climate is what the conditions are over relatively long periods of time. My belief of the issue is that climate change is man-made.
I think everyone has heard of global warming or an ice age, but does anyone really consider it to be a serious factor in the world? We only have one earth and once we destroy it, it is over. We have to do something about it because it

The effects of climate change depend upon how much change there is, how fast it occurs, and how easily the world can adapt to the new conditions. If the change is to rapid then that will leave some species of animals or plants to be extinct because they don’t have enough time to move or adapt. Other examples such as “Coral reefs: slightly warmer tropical water may kill the algae which reef animals use for food”.(Homeworktips) Increase in temperature in the climate is making a lot of the ice cap and icebergs melt in the north. Which is making the ocean rise more. “Mangrove swamps: Mangrove swamps are important breeding grounds for many animals that live in water. Increased ocean flooding may damage these areas by changing the supply of nutrients and the amount of salt.”(Homeworktips)
What can we do about the climate change to prevent or reduce the effects? “Three basic strategies are available, abatement, adaptation, and geo-engineering.”(Homeworktips) Abatement is where we slow or stop the affect by making things more energy efficient. Burning less coal, oil and natural gases. Adaptation is where we adapt or change to our surroundings. Protecting the coast by putting up barriers or dykes. Geo-engineering is where we engineer or change the earth. For example, reducing the amount of sunlight that hits the earth by putting small particles in the high atmosphere to reflect more sunlight back into the earth.
Things that an
Not only will climate affect the ecosystems but will also affect the animals. Climate change affects habitats for thousands of species. Animals that are affected by this would either have to adapt to the new environment or roam other places. Climate change can change life cycles for animals and
We might disagree on the causes of global warming. We cannot ignore that it is happening. We still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting. Sea levels are rising. Scientists predict more extreme weather in the coming decades. Drought will probably be more common. Flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released. This could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes; it might be a natural occurrence. We must find ways to save our planet.
Is global climate change man-made? Global temperature has been changing for the past couple of decades. This leaves researchers to believe that mankind is to blame for this abrupt change. Life on earth depends upon the average climate that has been around for thousands of years. Without this favorable climate, life on earth will be unsustainable. Those who argue that climate change is not affected by humans state that the emissions humans put into the atmosphere are too small to have an effect on the climate. Either way climate on earth is changing at a concerning rate and is a major issue.
The UNFCC also defines climate change as “a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over time periods.”
“There are many different views on climate change, and how people view it. Climate change is a debated topic by many different researchers and scientists. Some people think we are causing it, some people think modern technology is causing it, and some people think that it isn’t even happening at all. Creationists don’t deny climate change, but what they do deny is, The worldview-based assumptions that determine secular scientists’ interpretations and conclusions about the evidence” (Foley, Avery. “Science Confirms Climate Change!”). As Christians we need to use the earth in ways that benefit humans because we have been given dominion over the earth. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” (New International
Temperature effects the average, minimum or maximum determinants of plant distribution. Rainfall affects the balance of grasses to woody vegetation. Soil type is affected by climate change. One example is how the Palmae are cold intolerant as their single meristem is susceptible to frost. A second example is Arctic and alpine species will have nowhere to go because they are isolated, disjunct, and particularly vulnerable to global warming. A third example is Coastal species will be squeezed between human settlements and rising sea
Over the years there has been a lot of controversy on if climate change is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved. There is a constant debate among scientist on if human actions are contributing the changing of earth’s climates. Climate change is defined as the change in average weather patterns for a specific region or Earth as a whole. This could include the change in an average temperature for a city or the amount a rainfall it receives (Dunbar, 2015). The main difference between weather and climate is the period of time specific patterns are recorded. Weather patterns are looked at over a much shorter period of time, meaning that these patterns are going to be more sporadic and change more frequently. Climate on the other had is recorded over a much longer period of time and usually show less drastic changes in patterns when compared to weather. Some people may argue that climate change is not an issue because Earth’s temperature is always changing do to natural effects. What people don’t realize is that human activity has effected the rate that earth’s temperature is changing, and just the smallest changes can lead to drastic consequences (Dunbar, 2015).
It is believed that human activities are the cause of climate change. The world doesn’t have all the answers to why climate change is occurring, but there are general ideas. Evidence that the atmosphere and oceans are warming, rising sea levels and enormous declines in the amount of sea ice, glaciers and permafrost in the Arctic prove that climate change is indeed real.
Many animals around the world are severely affected by climate change. Climate change is the rise in average temperatures on Earth’s surface. When humans interact with fossil fuels, which are coal, natural gases, and oil, they release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere and can have a great effect on climate change. These changes include rising sea levels, landscapes being more prone to wildfires, and the pollen season length getting longer. Although these may be important, I think that the most important cause of climate change is how severely animals are affected by this. Animals like polar bears, snow leopards, and the Orang-utan struggle to survive everyday in result of climate
Before humans and human inventions developed, climate changes were a result of natural causes. Climate changes since the Industrial revolution in the 1700s can be explained by natural causes. Today in 2016, it seems that the only explanation to sudden changes is our own human population. Our population has been burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, and other non-renewable items. These items have been found to be the main cause of global warming or climate change in our world today.
The Earth has been around for 4.5 billion years. On the other hand, humans have been around for over two thousand years. The Earth has been through lots of climate change but none like the one we are experiencing. The ice glaciers in Antarctica are melting faster than ever. Sea levels are increasing more than ever while on land, we are recording record high temperatures and droughts. In addition, many places around the world are experiencing floods more than normal. These disasters have been a hot topic in the news and the United States presidential debates. There are the Democrats who acknowledges these facts and the Republican who denies these facts. Most people have accepted the fact that carbon dioxide, CO2, are the primary contribution to climate change but some people have yet accept it. I believe climate change is real.
When climate change affects people, either their countries flourish, or they cease to exist. If crops start to fade the food supply will go down, and the prices will go up. If it starts to rain heaps more, the river will flood and harm poorly built homes. If the country were to get warmer, the bug population would increase. Especially in Florida, the mosquito population would go up.
Rising temperature is not the only problem caused by climate change, other problems like displacement of animals and humans, rising water levels, and even the disruption of water currents can be caused because of Climate Change. In the Arctic, icebergs
The planet has been experiencing considerable climate change for the last several decades. There have been many explanations toward the main causes of the increased warming of the planet. On one hand are the environmentalists who believe that the major cause of this increased warming of the planet is the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere induced by human activities. On the other hand, the scientists believe that there are natural causes of global climate change. While the supporters of the man-made theory of global climate change reason that the major greenhouse gas causing global warming is carbon dioxide, the advocates of natural causes
Global climate change is real, it has noticeable effects on the environment. Climate change in the earth is caused by numerous activities. When climate change happens; temperatures can rise tremendously. Rapid warming notice nowadays is uncommon in the history of our planet. The rising temperatures will have great effects on the plant’s climate patterns and on all living things. When temperatures increase, different adjustments can occur on earth. For example, it can cause droughts, floods, air pollution, as well as extreme heat waves. Oceans are also experiencing changes: oceans are warming and becoming more acidic, glaciers are melting, and sea levels are rising. As these adjustments will occur in the future, it will cause challenges to our society and environment.
