Data is facts and numbers that hasn’t been modified or analysed for example times and numbers. When data is by itself it has no meaning to it however information by itself does have a meaning.
Data is a group of information that are used for various purposes like analysis, evaluations and to arrive at certain results or conclusions. Data reporting is a process where data is extracted form a source or many sources and then converted into a format that can be used for a purpose.
Database, it is a place use to store lots of data. It can be seen as a filing cabinet. And database management system (DBMS) is software that specificity designs for managing the data in database such as create, update or delete them. General is including security, retrieval and backup features. User also allows using the data to create a report or share data with multi-user.
Databases are the heart of the company. This is where all crucial company information is stored and can be accessed. Some databases are stored on site others in remote locations or using clouds. The information within a database can be manipulated in any way that the company needs it to be. Databases help to quickly search and retrieve information, it saves from data redundancy.

My only job that involved regular use of a database was at Chilcutt Direct Marketing (CDM) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From February 2003 to June 2004, I was an Account Executive of Brokerage at CDM. Subsidiary plants are located all over the world i.e. Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and South America. Since the company has many branches and deals with a whole lot of inventory, there is a need to act proactively and timely so that there are no delays in logistics. Projections of inventory, i.e. inventory forecasting, are often done in the operations and supply chain management so that overproduction and inefficiencies are avoided. Coca-Cola also uses historic data to find out the direction of future trends (Butler, 2015). The process is used by the company to determine near accurate allocation of budgets for future production periods (Jacobs, 2013). There is a need for Coca-Cola as a company to find out the events that affect the company production wise. The occurrences include expectations of sales, and whether they will cause an increase or a decrease in the share price of the company. Nonetheless, forecasting provides a necessary benchmark for Coca-Cola, which has a long-term perspective of operations.
