In recent years, golf has become one of the most popular sport and it is practiced all around the world. There's something posh and clever about this sport and that's why not all the people are very fond of it. It's mostly played by upper-class business gentlemen and men that like to call themselves classy. Whether you view golf as a sport or a means of relaxation you must admit that it's the perfect sport for classy men. Here are our top reasons why.
It's all about respect
Playing golf is surely a great way to spend some valuable time with your friends or work collegues because it is very relaxing and quiet. As a child, you probably remember hearing "Quiet on the green!" whenever you accompanied your father on the field. The truth is that

Most men like to stay classy even after they finish work or business meetings. However, this doesn't mean you have to wear a suit and tie at a golf match. Even though the requirements are slightly different among courses, the dress code is standard. In all cases, golf courses require that men wear collared shirts, long pants or pleated shorts and golf shoes.
Clubhouses
The best part of playing this sport is that you'll find a clubhouse at most sports venues where you can grab a cigar and listen to the stories of your collegues and friends. It's a great way to make new friends that share the same interests as you. The mere fact that you play golf and hang at clubhouses sets you apart from the rest and makes you appear more classy than you already are.
Golf equipement can be stylish
If you want to be succesful on the golf field, it's important to invest in good quality golf equipement. You can find a variety of golf clubs but not all perform the same. Ask for the help of a professional when choosing your golf equpement. c. If you want to relax and enjoy a nice day while having fun at the same time with little physical effort, golf is your sport. One of the reasons I enjoy golf most is the simple aspect of enjoying it with your friends. Most people play it simply to get away from stress and hardship from everyday life. All in all golf is one of the most relaxing sports there is to play, and one of the least stressful on your body.
Golf is something I have always played. The more I play the game, the more I think about how it relates to life and how everything one does on a golf course can be something that one should be doing in life. I use the lessons that I have learned on the course and I apply them to my life, I feel it has helped me grow and become the man I am today.
Callaway’s product line doesn’t end at golf clubs. Everything else you need for the game, you will have the option of buying through Callaway. This includes golf apparel, which everyone knows is a must-have when you are going to spend a day on the course. Golf shoes are the best for moving across the grass that makes up the ground of the golf courses, and other golf apparel such as hats and shirts will protect you from the brutal elements involved in the game. If you are an easily sunburned person, then you should find the proper shading and protection in order to avoid having your skin burned while you
These magazines and movies are only a small portion of how golf has helped changed society. Golf provided a helping hand in bringing the American nation closer together as equals. Blacks and Whites of all ages and gender have been given the chance to play along side each other in a safe environment. Sports sometimes provide a place for equality. Golf is a great example of this equality. Stossel says "golf is beginning to look more like America: diverse, multicultural, and largely middle class" (2). But, will Americans take advantage of the
Our group strongly values stewardship among one another. We value the stories we tell walking down each fairway, the jokes told before teeing off, and the advice given while settling bets after the round. Golfers are often stereotyped as quiet and serious competitors, but this group breaks that social norm and sets new norms. We cheer each other on to play well, even at the expense of losing a few dollars to that person, rather than cheering for ourselves to win.
Fourteen clubs - four wedges, six irons, a rescue, a three wood, a driver, and a putter - this is golf. It is one of the most mentally challenging sports in the world. It can fool beginners who are deceived by its simplicity. Golf is often underestimated by those who have never attempted to play the sport. While it has often been known as a “rich man’s” sport, in recent years this perception has begun to change. There are a number of other generalizations made when talking about golf, yet these are most always from those who have never experienced, played, or followed the game. One should question how a critic with no knowledge of the activity could state whether or not golf should be considered a sport. Golf is a sport, regardless of what any critic has to say. Studies and experimentation, along with the experience itself, reveal all of the athletic aspects that make golf better than most sports.
Through the years there have been many forms of golf clubs used to strike to object used as a ball. Because of the increase in technology the tools of golf have been defined and redefined over and over again. The very first types of clubs that were used were just regular sticks that a person would find. These clubs were fashioned
“Golf is so popular simply because it is the best game in the world at which to be bad”, a
It has been said that golf is the most difficult sport to play, competing only against baseball. This should not be a surprise because there are similar motions in both sports. The only thing that can rebut the difficulty of golf is the fact that the crowd must be silent when a golfer takes a shot. “You do not see cheerleaders telling the home crowd to be quiet when someone from the visiting team is at the foul line.” (Atkins “Sorry, Golf Is Not a Sport.”)
I play golf for the pleasure of it; have been doing so for number years, as member, Sharjah Golf Club. I am proud of expertize I have acquired in it. It seems to be a game of hitting a dimpled white ball, placed on a holder, between relaxing walks, with a caddy in tow, whereas it requires knowledge of math, science, engineering and technology for one to be a ‘Tiger Woods’.
Mark Twain once called the game of golf “a good walk spoiled.” While there is a sizeable portion of the world that would probably agree with that statement, there are others who believe that walking around for a couple of hours and whacking around a little white ball is not only a great walk but fantastic physical and mental exercise as well. Regardless of how athletic or fit a person is, if they don’t practice their golf swing, then their skills will not necessarily be “up to par.” Golf is a game that people truly can get out of it what they put in. Golf is a sport that both service members and civilians can enjoy, but there are three main reasons why the game appeals to members of the military.
A matter of opinion has separated a variety of sports enthusiasts apart, due to the ongoing debate of whether golf is a sport or simply a skill. Famed golfer Arnold Palmer declared, “Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented. (ThinkQuest.com)” These words state what every athlete experiences and feels when he/she is turning a double play, making the game winning three point shot, or throwing a hail mary pass for a touchdown. Golfers are athletes too, they train for that big moment just like any other athlete, but
Our town is notable for having several interesting golf courses. For those residents whose interests lie in other pursuits, those courses are a waste of large quantities of otherwise useful space that could be better used to construct another mall or store. For the golf enthusiasts among us, however, the preponderance of courses is a delightful benefit of living in this otherwise uninteresting locale, where the only saving grace is the plentiful supply of interesting people.
Since the age of four, when I was barely old enough to swing a putter, I have loved the game of golf. My dad, passing his love of the game down to me, would take me out every Sunday to Woods Edge Golf Course in Edgewood; he taught me the ins and outs and the dos and don’ts of the sport. One of the earliest memories I have of these trips to Woods Edge is being a mere couple of inches from driving the cart into a pond while dad was teeing off; this would definitely be considered a don’t in the world of golf. I received my first set of clubs for Christmas when I was eight and a year later, a pass to Pin Oak. Boy was I thrilled. I began to golf by myself and learn my own lessons through my experiences on the course. But as I grew as a golfer on my own, my dad was still there tweaking my swing in the back yard and taking trips to Edgewood with me. My dad is a big reason why I have a passion for the game of golf.
When people here the word ‘golf’ they often correlate it with a misleading sense of boring, elderly men and women who have nothing better to do. Believe it or not, there is a broader reason why so many retirees indulge in the golf lifestyle. Yes, golf is a lifestyle, not just a sport. Many people, most of whom know absolutely nothing about the sport, do not realize that playing golf regularly can add five years to their life span and also have many other well-being-related benefits (“Health” par. 5). Golf is a great therapeutic activity because it teaches good etiquette, it enriches the mind, and it provides for a healthy lifestyle.
