Nora Rodriguez is a hero because she helped people and families with their paper work. The reason nora Rodriguez is hero is because she fixed papers for people who weren't safe in many states in central America or to get a better life, so nora helped them by fixing their paper work from migratory so they wont be in harm. Heroic describes nora because in paragraph 6 it says that Nora heard about rape, and murder in some places in central American, and the ay she would help people is by fixing families and peoples papers so they can move somewhere safe. Nora is also a hero to immigrants because in the Article it says Honduran hero helps central american gain legal paper work, thats why she is a hero.

Dolores Huerta is a Mexican-American woman whose struggles and activist heart led her to help improve the lives of farm workers, immigrants and women. Her father was an inspiration as an activist, while her mother encouraged the development of her education and extra-curricular activities. Although she was a great student, she like many Mexican Americans, experienced racism. Rather than give up on her dreams, her struggles encouraged her to fight an unjust system.

Because of Eleanor Roosevelt’s diligent personality and persistency, she transformed the role of the First Lady for people today, changed women’s rights, and improved worldwide injustices, which makes her the greatest hero we have read about.

The article I chose was about Alex Rodriguez and his many years of steroid use. This applies to what we have talked about in class because by many New York Yankee fans Rodriguez is loved and thought of as a hero because he has hit 684 home runs, drove in 2047 runs, and has hit for a .348 batting average with the Yankees. Where this relates to class is that Rodriguez has admitted to using performance enhancing drugs for many years spread out over his 20 year career. I chose Cesar Chavez because he worked really hard to get where he was. His biography was admiring because he helped the farmers in many ways. He protested for better working conditions. Chavez felt that hard working farmers deserved fair pay. The way He fought for people's rights were very significant to the future all farm workers. Another reason why I chose him is because at the age of thirteen, he was a role model and a hero. He never got the chance to finish school, all he did was work on a farm for little pay. Chavez was strong was because he dealt with racism, ignorance and criticism. He was in the navy for two years. After he left, he met his wife Helen and had eight children. Those eight children helped around on the farm.

Dolores Clara Fernandez Huerta born April 10, 1930 in Dawson, New Mexico is an American labor leader and civil rights activist who was co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association, and later the United Farm workers. Huerta has received many awards and accolades and has remained a role model and voice to many in the Latino community. Huerta had been born to Juan Fernandez and Alicia Chavez; they divorced when Huerta was just three years old. Both Huerta’s parents were active in the rights of people and the community itself. Huerta’s father was a field worker, miner, as well as a union activist. Huerta’s mother was a business woman who owned a restaurant and a 70-room hotel where she helped low wage workers. A lot of Huerta’s humanitarianism came from her mother, who was known for her kindness and compassion for others. Huerta personality followed close to her mother’s as she too was caring and compassionate yet strong minded.

Simon bolivar, who was a rebel, decided to lead a revolution of South America. Simon bolivar was the leader of the revolution he gathered people from Venezuela and they fought fearless battle. Because Simon created a speech he became famous he quoted “let us lay the cornerstone of American freedom without fear!” Simon became military leader over patriots who were ready to fight. During Their first triumph came in 1813. He also gained the name el liberatador which meant the liberator. Super surprisingly they fought fight after fight, for over more than ten years. Simon never gave up hence the name “second Washington of the new world.” Simon bolivar, who was a rebel, became an exquisite hero.

Over time an American hero comes in all different ways. As a society, there are all kinds of people that have different backgrounds, participate or do things, and we look at them as an American hero. It can be someone who does something courageous but doesn’t allow fear to stop them from anything even if they are putting themselves in danger. More than ever before, each of us individually have our own way of genuinely recognizing who is a hero for us, and what we really think makes a hero, a hero. An honorable hero is Maya Angelou because she has given many contributions to affect history since 1928 when she was born. Maya Angelou is a southern African-American woman who endeavored many hardships, but became an inspiration to women across the world by how she overcame them. During the time she was born, racial prejudice was still a problematic situation; however, Angelou voiced these issues and became well known for speaking up. Maya Angelou is a hero with many traits such as courage, perseverance, and skillful intelligence.

In The Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemingway uses Santiago to demonstrate some of the qualities of a Hemingway Code Hero. Throughout the novel, Santiago encounters many trials and tribulations that test his role as a code hero. While reading the novel one will see that Santiago endures many of the rules of a code hero. However, the ones he encounters the most are misfortune, honor, and courage. Hemingway uses these rules in his novel in such a way that one can fully understand the life of Santiago.

My hero is Amy Goodman. She is my hero because she broadcasted and exposed the oil company that built the pipeline across the Native American’s land in North Dakota. Dolores’ mother, Alicia Chavez, was a women dedicated to her community and to provide low housing for farmer workers and their families.
