Is Peru Economy Important To The United States

There are twenty Spanish speaking counties worldwide. Out of those twenty countries there are about 475 million Spanish speaking people. People often believe most Hispanics are very similar in these countries, but in fact they are very diverse. Some the differences are the foods, music, and history of the people. The two countries that show this are Peru and Mexico. These countries are from two distinct cultures and two different continents.

Peru is a country that has diverse regions ranging from plains to mountainy regions and also the rain forest jungle. It offers a wide variety of sites to its visitors and especially Peru is famous for the family adventures. A mixed economy means that one part of the entire economy is being controlled and run by a certain country’s government, while the other half is left to the free market. Most economies of the countries all over the world are mixed, and they only differ in terms of intervention by the state. Throughout this course I’ve learned that the relationship between Latin America and the United States is positive. The United States is known for their leadership with helping other countries rather than destroying them. Mexico almost always comes to the United States for help causing them to have a close relationship. There are two themes that stay consistent with US and Latin American relations over the past two centuries; first, the US desired to protect and expand their economic and strategic interest in the region and second US leaders justified US policy by portraying the region as hopeless and desperate for protection to save people from barbarism. Imagine, a beautiful developing country that has an immense amount to offer. A world completely different than the American lifestyle of not worrying about getting a parasite. A community-oriented country that opens its arms to visitors in need. A country that has communities, that allow complete strangers to walk into their house and use their bathroom. A country filled with natural beautiful plants and animals. A culture that is rich in traditions and a sense of community. These are some of the wonderful attributes that the beautiful country of Peru has to offer. With all these wonderful characteristics of this land comes, some unfortunate features. Peru is an impoverish land that is full of needs. Citizens struggle just to get dinner on their table each day.

Peru is rich with minerals, natural resources, and precious metals such as silver, gold, copper, timber, iron ore, coal, potash, phosphate, petroleum, and natural gas. Natural resources have created Peru's infrastructure jump in growth in recent years. Peru has been building roads that go through different types of terrain to include mountains, rainforest and urban areas. Peruvians have updated their railway systems that transport civilians to and from their jobs all throughout the country. Although Peru is wealthy; unfortunately the majority of this income from these natural resources does not make it to the miners and farmers that work long days in order to acquire the resources for global sale. The young male I chose for this interview is from Lima Peru. He is a student and an athlete here at SIUe. He came to SIUe to play sports, more specifically football or as we call it here in the United States, soccer. He is enjoying it quite a lot. This student came to the United States in 2013 and feels that each country has something different to offer.

Dean Kamen is the entrepreneur innovator of the slingshot technologies. Slingshot is a water purification device invented by Mr. Kamen that is able to purify up to 97% of dirty water that is literally unusable in the world today. This invention runs on very affordable means of energy; uses combustible cow dung to operate and purify the water with immensely high accuracy levels. Through this, Dean is able to clean dirty water with the inner drive of making the world a better place for millions of people who lack clean water around several parts of the world, especially in the developing countries.

Peru is located in western South America and it shares borders with Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador and the South Pacific Ocean. Peru is about 1.28 million square kilometers. There are three major regions in Peru: a narrow coastal belt, the wide Andean mountains and the Amazon Basin. The coast is mostly a desert, but contains Peru's major cities. The Andes has two main ranges - Cordillera Occidental and Oriental. Oriental includes Peru's highest mountain called Huascaran, it a peaks out at 22,200ft. On the east side is the Amazon Basin, a region of tropical lowland, the water there is carried out by the Maranon and Ucayali rivers.

The film Boys Don’t Cry, revolves around the life of a transgender person, Brandon Teena, and his life and eventual murder. The film begins with Brandon and his cousin Lonny at a skating rink, where Brandon meets a young girl. Later they are seen making out as he drops her off at her house, it cuts to Brandon being chased by people who are apparently related to the girl yelling homomorphic slurs and threatening her. Her and her cousin, who is also gay hideout in their trailer and it is relived that Brandon is not a boy but actually a girl. The argument between her and her cousin reveal Brandon no longer believes that he is a boy, and that even his mother used to “lock her up” presumably because of her transgender behavior.
