Isaac Lidsky's Speech

In Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech, “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence”, King asserts that the war in Vietnam is a “symptom” (7) of a much larger disease that affects the “American spirit” (7). The disease King mentions is causing destruction where ever it is found, and in the case of the Vietnam war, it has led to their oppression and the death of people. In the section, Strange Liberators, King states, “They move sadly and apathetically as we heard them off the land of their fathers into concentration camps where minimal social needs are rarely met. They know they must move or be destroyed by our bombs” (8). King believed that the disease was leading the United States to take drastic actions against the Vietnamese people. The U.S.

Maya was justifiably upset at the offensive behavior of the unintroduced guest. Since a chair was not provided for him on the stage, it would appear he was not invited to sit on the stage during Mr. Donleavy’s speech. It was exceptionally impolite for him to take the principal’s seat and showed a lack consideration for the principal and the audience.

Racism has always been a major problem in America. However, it was known to be the most problematic in the late 1950s. On August 28 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his infamous speech “I Have a Dream” to America. His dream highlighted the injustices of segregation and discrimination of African Americans that took place in this nation every single day. Dr. King inspired thousands despite the color of their skin, to take a stance against racism, with his powerful way with words. In his speech MLK efficaciously uses, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos by using allusions, developing credibility, in his speech to persuade all Americans to be aware of the problems with racism.

In our lifetime a lot of unusual things will happen, some good and some bad. My speech in particular is about one of the bad things that has happened in our parents, maybe even grandparents lifetimes. This case is frightening and disturbing, but the most shocking part is how he doesn’t remember what he did or how he did it. All he remembers is being taken into custody and an abnormal loss of teeth. My information is from “my life among the serial killers”, written by Helen Morrison, an interview from CBS news, and an article written by one of the detectives assigned to the case. In “my life among the serial killers”, Morrison tells about her time hypnotizing “Baby faced” Richard Macek and the horrifying story of what he did.

A highly influencing person that visited to our school was Bobby Jones. He came to share his story with us on October 23. Bobby Jones grew up in Yankton, South Dakota, with his parents, his brother, and his sister. Bobby came to persuade our students about staying on track and not to go down the wrong paths in life. A powerful message was delivered that day. He had a very specific goal, which was to tell us his story and give us more of an insight to stay focused on life. Bobby Jones had great information for everyone and I will always remember this presentation. He had a unique way of getting the audience’s attention. Frequently, he would do clapping exercises with the audience, which was very fitting due to the audience members who attended. There were middle school students at this speech as well as high school students. In that aspect, I feel as if he did a great job adapting to his audience.

The author portrays himself as a Realist in the book and one of the characteristics of a Realist is that humans control their own destinies

The average age of the delegates was 42 and some of the most important delegates such as Alexander Hamilton, Edmund Randolph, Gouverneur Morris and James Madison were in their thirties. Many of the delegates graduated from college. In fact over half of them graduated from college 9 of them bring from Princeton and six from British Universities. Even more significant information was their political experience. In fact 8 signed the Declaration of Independence, 25 served in the continental Congress, 15 helped draft the new State Constitutions between 1776 and 1780, and 40 served in the Confederation Congress between 1783 and 1787.

I'm on maternity leave these days, and the graduation ceremony will take place in two weeks, in which I will receive a diploma authorizing that I have a BA in special education for pre-school. I am both excited and expecting it.

In World State Society, individuals believe that "Bokanovsky's Process is one of the major instruments of social stability" (8). Huxley utilizes the citizens’ appreciation of this Process to emotionally appeal to his readers. Bockanovsky Process’ strays away from the idea of family, something that continues to be an important aspect in the lives of contemporary citizens. This therefore reinforces the idea of detrimental scientific advancements. Furthermore, World State Society strives to “mak[e] people like their unescapable social destiny” through conditioning and harmful substances prior to and after birth” (13). For instance, the controllers of the government condition individuals so that they remain ignorant, yet satisfied of their low status in order to maintain stability. This additionally appeals to audiences emotionally in that in the contemporary era, we are taught that an individual can rise up from poor beginnings

As an illustration it showcased an insight right of the beginning with: “And his being blind bothered me. My idea of blindness came from the movie, the blind moved slowly and never laughed”, this very quote showed me the author did not care this man was blind nor did he have an understanding of blind people. He made his own guess based on watching a movie and this feeling was true to him as this is what he believed. This quote also showed me that he

In class we were shown a recording of the speech, “A call to men”. The first thing I noticed was the title, which made me immediately assume it was going to be a female speaker that was going to speak about feminism; or something along those lines. To see a man giving the speech grabbed my attention instantly. The man giving the speech was Tony Porter, and his audience was mostly women, who made me think, “Is this guy going to be giving a speech about feminism?” While listening to his speech I felt guilty for being quick to judge, because his speech was actually about growing up as a male, and being masculine is today’s society. While Tony Porter was giving his speech, he brought up stories that without a doubt every guy in our class could relate to that left many of us saying, “Wow”.

Historically, humanity has been obsessed with discovering the nature of reality. Every person eventually develops their own worldview based on their beliefs, morals, and experiences. At one point in their lives, many people undergo a radical change in perception that forces them to change this view, eventually adopting a new perception of reality. Such a transformation occurs once one starts to question the fundamental nature of one’s own existence and that of the world around them. This realization begins with the disillusionment with one’s environment, continues with the questioning of one’s life’s worth, and concludes with the acceptance of a new worldview.

When defining the word blindness, it can be interpreted in various ways. Either it can be explained as sightless, or it can be carefully deciphered as having a more complex in-depth analysis. In the novel Blindness, Jose Saramago depicts and demonstrates how in an instant your right to see can be taken in an instant. However, in this novel, blindness is metaphorically related to ‘seeing’ the truth beyond our own bias opinions.

I hope you are doing well in your own country. Though you do not live in the now called U.S.S.R, I felt you should know what is going on. Most of the world doesn’t seem to know. After many years of being ruled by the Czars, we now have this new leader. His name is Vladimir Lenin and he claims that these communist ways are going to be the best for all of us. I suspect it will cause many issues. Not to long ago, Lenin was in jail for being a threat to the government, but now, he is leading it!

In Simon Sinek speech “Millennials in the workplace interview” Simon humorously explains using past and personal experiences that millennials are a great and fantastic generation. They have become an addictive generation because of bad parenting, technology, impatience, and the environment and the only way to change this generation is if they are given help to balance physical and social lives. I would agree with this because I too suffer from an unbalanced physical and social life.
