Why China want to Isolationism instead of opening to the world? However, Why Japan opening

The farm harvested small amounts of the
surplus of labor, and wages were cut by not enough surplus for workers. Farm workers were
suffered by lower wage. All the lands were occupied by the high ranking class people. People have
had conflict over rights to tenancy and shortage of marriages. Hard times brought over reducing the
young man and female infanticide. Population growth risen up as burden of the Qing dynasty. It was
hard to control all of the population. Government had resources to try to improve the conditions of
the poor. It did not work as expected. The supporting of hereditary force made decline of Qing
dynasty more faster. The rebellions risen up very quickly, and military force tried to take them out
from public. If Westernized and enlightened, it would be chaos as I guess.
Compare to China, Japan accepted western civilization and became most powerful country in
Asia during 19th century, they also defeated Russia, and occupied Korea. In japan, villages had to
deal with internal conflict. Each village collected tax among the farmers, family business, expenses
for administration. In eastern Japan, village leaders suffered from population decline. Bandits3
China remains a current world super power that has been around for thousands of years. It was one of the first civilizations ever created and it has evolved into an enormous country. China is a large territory, but only 10% of the land can be farmed on. This continues to be a tremendous problem, especially with the large population that mostly lives in rural areas. In the past China was seen as a fragile nation that was still stuck in the past, although after the Four Humiliations this began to change. The Four Humiliations were a group of events that forced China to modernize due to the losses it faced. After the last of the four humiliations and the fall of the dynasty era during 1911, China began to catch up to the westernized world by modernizing their government, military, and education. The Chinese
Had similar administration as the one in Qin Dynasty except they wanted to reduce the brutal repression
The Qing dynasty started an “eighty-year military effort (1680-1760) that brought these huge regions solidly under Chinese Control” (Strayer, 640). Despite its economic need, security was what caused this aggressive action to begin. Chinese expansion was “viewed as a defensive necessity” (Strayer, 640). Although the Qing dynasty was taken over by the Manchus, their campaigns against the Mongols marked “the evolution of China into a Central Asian empire” (Strayer, 640). The Chinese wanted to unify the people of Eurasia. The Qing dynasty made use of China’s military technology by taking over central Eurasia. The Chinese made use of “local notables” as they attempted to gain control of the
The Qing dynasty (1916-1912) is the last imperial dynasty of China, it was consider as the most powerful country during the “golden age” ruled by Kang Xi and Qian Long, and it has over 400 million population and has the 1st ranked GDP in the world at the moment. The Qing has the supreme power at the time and has the significant influence in East Asian. However, the collapse of the Qing Dynasty made a humiliate history of China. The Qing dynasty doesn't fall suddenly, and the collapse of Qing is not just simply because domestic revolution and alien invasion. The failure of the Qing government is worthy to study, we need to take a deep step and explore the root cause of the collapse of Qing.
China experiences the pressure of the imperialist’s military which China did not have the knowledge or the experience to match. China went from a superior leader, self-sufficient country, that thought that everyone else were barbarians to a torn country. China accepted foreign trade, but they wanted to control and limit how much and with who the trade was used for, they felt that they European trade was unnecessary. They did not allow the western merchants to have any power or privileges and restricted them to Canton, plus they refused to open their trade system beyond Co-Hong which caused china to not become as prosperous as Japan. (Valentini 2013) Because China the believed that they were the center of civilization and that the Western culture was inferior the Chinese government refused to go along with any of the European’s request and the two nations became hostile towards
China has been a communist country. Despite persistent debate over an extended period of time, the question whether which Chinese government is the most responsive to its people has never been permanently settled. However, I dare to claim that Qing Dynasty was the most open and receptive to its people among several Chinese governments. Some people might contend that Republic of China, Warlords, and Chinese Communist Party were the most responsive to its people. However, a close examination throughout this essay will clearly reveal the fallacious nature of their argument. My line of reasoning will derive its support from the most fundamental sources of human wisdom and history.

Western imperialism in China was very significant, costed the lives of millions of people, but also helped shape China into a much stronger country than it was before, being ruled by the Qing Dynasty. Imperialism is a country extending its power and influence through the use of military force. There were two wars between the imperialists and China, the first and second Opium wars. The result of these wars was the weakening of the Qing Dynasty and led to a time of rebuilding, which was a great struggle, for China. The Europeans wanted to trade with China because of the great opportunity that they saw in the market. China’s population, which was 430 million, was seen as a fast and easy way for the Europeans to make a lot of money. The
The Qing Dynasty relied heavily on the effectiveness of its fighting forces. However, due to corruption and loss of skills the military began to crumble. Militarism, the use of army for political advantage, became very influential for a large
The 19th century had sparked a time period of bloody revolution, social and political reform, and both economic and financial problems for China. Though the cause of many of these problems could be rooted to internal conflict, foreign influence on Chinese ways proved to be disastrous. During the early 19th century the population was growing, the economy seemed stable and generally people seemed content with China’s economic progress. However these feelings of success would soon end as overpopulation would cause widespread poverty and famine. At that point in time China’s rulers had been Manchu; the Qing dynasty had been in rule but even its
The Han dynasty was a golden era for China. It saw the greatest land confiscation of the nation’s history and economic success. In this paper I will be focusing on the structure of the national government, the monopolizing of iron and salt, the Yumen Pass and the Yellow Turban rebellion. Join me as we take a trip back in time to visit a time in Chinas history that is highly revered.
After the first Sino-British War, China was forced to accept the western influence and later then the Taiping movement accelerated the progress of China’s modern history and promoted the Westernization movement.
