Several issues influencing employees to join unions include favoritism, complaint negligence, and employee safety (Simpson and Mitchell, 2009). Favoritism brings unfairness into the workplace and decreases employee morale. Employers should reduce favoritism at all cost because this could lead to discrimination and legal issues. Complaint negligence triggers employees to join unions because their voices are not being heard and not resolved by managers. After so many attempts, employees will just turn to unions. Unions will then hear out what employees have to say and will fight for their rights. Lastly, if workplace safety is neglected, this will cause great harm and health hazard to employees. Employees expect to work in a safe environment
