It is possible to notice differences in the climate behavior around the word. The elderly people from my hometown claim that today the sun burns more than in the time of their youth; in fact, scientists proove that the average of the patterns of precipitation, temperature, seassons, humudity, and wind of a region over a long period of time, have been abruptly changing through the years and causing several impacts in the earth. The prevision is that it will keep changing. The climate changing is one of the major negative effects of the Global Warming, which is the result of the excess of Greenhouse gases, that happens when the orange light released by the sunrays get in to the atmosphere and hits the ground (surface), reflecting Infrared …show more content…
It also can harm the animal and vegetal spicies, extinguishing them in a worst scenario. Socially, as consequence of the loss of land it would result in crowded population and health implications: air polluiton, pests and diseases, and tremendous ease of propagation, as same as decrease the production of edible resources, less job oportunities for the population; therefore, adversely affect the global economy.
There is no proof of how much countries need to reduce the production of Greenhouse gases, but since years ago that scientists have been studying attempts to solve te Global Warming and avoid or stop the climate changing. With the development of the technology, many countries start slowly replacing the old fashioned cars for electric cars to reduce the pollution, which is an example of use of alternative sources of energy. Use renewable energy such as wind, sun, hydro and geothermal energy, and reduce the coal burning from the industries, are plausible solutions too. In the year of 1997, in Kyoto, Japan, it was signed an agreement from over 191 countries with the exception of Andorra, Canada, United States, and Sudan, to legally stop the emissions of Greenhouse gases in two commietment period from 2008 to 2020.
Although all those efforts, the soluction begins with ourselves in small actions in our daily routine, since rationalize the
Another problem is transportation; cars, planes, trucks, and other vehicles emit various greenhouse gases when in use, or when idling. I would create more solar-powered cars, and if possible, wind-cars, or other cars that run using renewable sources. I would also increase the prices of gas, to discourage people from buying it. However, this would be very, very expensive, and the fuel companies would not agree with the
In the world today there are talks about why and how the people of this planet are polluting the rivers, lakes, soil, and even air. With these talks countries are coming up with great ways to reduce this problem. They see the effects and they are happy and life goes on but there is another problem, the one the everyday people just can’t solve with their own hands, that problem is the theory of global warming. During December of 1997, a meeting in Kyoto, Japan, started a huge trend to try to improve the world’s greenhouse gas releasing which could cause an unnatural shift in climate throughout the world. This meeting was called the Kyoto Protocol and about thirty- eight industrialized
has decreased land available for native species of plants and animals as well as a loss
As we lose more and more habitats, it could create a domino effect causing many other complications in the world's ecosystem.
In 1997, The Kyoto Protocol was adopted to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (EPA, n.d.). In spite of the international treaty, half of participating nations, including Canada failed to reducing its Co2 emissions (Clark, D., 2012, November 26).
Addressing this issue, there has been a few things done in result of eliminating this problem. One solution being The Kyoto Protocol, "...was the first agreement between nations to mandate country-by-country reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions ( 'Extract ', 2011)." During this process, countries agreed to cut their yearly emissions of greenhouse gases. "Some countries and regions, including the European Union, were on track by 2011 to meet or
Climate change is a major problem worldwide, the actions of one country inevitably have an impact on the rest of the world, some places more than others. Consequently, it is vital for the entire world to be on board with efforts to resolve the issues. The main cause of “climate change” is an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, both naturally occurring and man made, cause the earth’s average temperature to slowly rise. Especially in the past 50 years, the rate of deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels such as gas, oil and coal have significantly increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere (Climate Change and Health). Efforts from a few countries, although beneficial can not fix the problem
Everyone can participate in reducing global warming. Alternate energy sources that do not emit carbon-dioxide and that can convert the sunlight, wind energy into electrical energy. Also, we should reduce the amount of electricity we used at home by turning off our computers and electricity while we are away from home. At home we should develop the habits of energy saving, choose low energy technologies and turn down your thermostats when the house is empty in winter. We can take our commitment to renewable energy. And the industry would have to reduce the emission of gases. Industrialized nation should have different emission target. We need to take action quickly to reduce the emission of gases and there should be an agreement internationally to target the emission.
Global warming has escalated at the fastest rate in recorded history. We Americans don’t realize how much CO2 is produced every year. The burning of fossil fuels to make electricity is the largest provenance heat-trapping pollution. The United States comes in second of producing large amounts of CO2. Many climate changes have occurred due to the burning of fossil fuels. We need to reduce the burning of fossil fuels and start utilizing clean energy. Us Americans need to stop utilizing gas-operated cars instead we should use battery operated cars which is better for the
We all see the weather change from day to day and it is just a normal occurrence. Seasons change from warm to cold and we all just go about our business. But what most people don’t see change is the climate. Climate changes over a long period of time and it has shown a warming trend in the past few decades. Many people attribute this warming trend to the alarming rate that humans are burning fossil fuels and pumping Co2 into the atmosphere, however some people think that climate change is merely a myth or that global temperatures have always risen and fallen during Earth’s lifetime.
According to an article focused on environmental awareness, “the world’s average surface temperature rose by approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit, the fastest rate in any period over the last 1000 years” (Source A). Damage has already been done to the environment but it is not the time to throw our hands up, it is the time for leaders in all sectors to tackle this issue head on. We know that carbon dioxide is the culprit, so now it is imperative to implement the solution and take a hard look at who is producing the most greenhouse gases. Big changes need to take place but they can only be done in steps and not all at once to be effective. In an excerpt from a book about global warming, Mark Maslin brings up the point that many feel the Kyoto Protocol does not go far enough; scientists believe that a 60% cut of greenhouse gas emissions is necessary in order to “prevent major climate change” (Source E). A sixty percent cut of emissions should be what countries work up to achieving but first and foremost, every country needs to agree to the Kyoto Protocol guidelines. The Kyoto Protocol itself should not be viewed as the end in the discussion of greenhouse gas restrictions, but rather the first stepping stone to a much broader and effective
There are many ways in which we can slow and even stop the Greenhouse effect. More public
Without farmland starvation will be more widespread and children won’t grow properly because they won’t get the nutrients they need. The lack of good land to grow crops wouldn’t just affect humans, it would affect animals as well. Most farm animals depend on food that is grown on the farm and fertile land without farms could be valuable feeding grounds for millions of animals. So next time you drive by a farm think about how one day the farm might shut down because of what we have done.
Greenhouse gases come from such mainstays of modern life as electrical power plants, automobiles, and heavy industry. Growing consumption of fuel by less efficient cars and light trucks suggests that motor vehicles may soon overtake industry as the largest source of gases suspected of causing global warming by effectively creating a greenhouse around the Earth. Many people do not want to decrease their standard of living by reducing their consumption of fossil fuels. These people do not realize that if they reduce their consumption, there will be a reduction in the amount of greenhouse gases. If this does not happen and global warming continues, the long-term effects may be catastrophic.
Thesis statement: It is important that the governments and people find solution for Global Warming problem and decrease the buildings and greenhouses emission, cut down the industrial waste heat, and encourage people to use biofuel in their vehicles.
