We place great emphases with the horizontal relationship and we try to do our best to keep those relationships in a healthy zone, but our vertical relationship must be kept up with as well.
I think Church’s have major responsibilities to communicate the gospel message. We need to remember that it was God’s kindness that saved us. Church’s shouldn’t focus too much
In their book, The Great Commission to Worship, Vernon Whaley and David Wheeler takes an in depth look at commandment from Jesus for His followers to go out and spread the Good News of salvation. Today’s Christian seems to have a misconception about their role in evangelism. As the authors stated, “many times in Scripture it appears
Response: “Alan Potter (2014) wrote that John MacArthur warned us that if we lose the biblical foundation while preaching this will lead to the decline of preaching which will contribute to the weakness and worldliness of the church, so for a church to be spiritual healthy, preaching should return to its proper biblical foundation (https://www.linkedin.com). Paul told Timothy that by preaching the Scripture, man and women could be wise for salvation (2 Tim. 3:15 NKJV). They learn the way of salvation through the Bible which the Holy Spirit taught the preacher to use, they should not use their own words dictated by man’s wisdom (1 Corinth. 2: 13
Living life as a Christian, in many ways is difficult in that there is always a war being fought by the enemy for your faith. Dickson insists that, “there are clear New Testament passages urging us all to speak up for Christ when we can” (Dickson, 101). Christians are called to a life of spreading the gospel to all mankind and nations. Dickson urges that the gospel is the announcement of our King coming to make all things new again. Christian’s are called by Jesus Himself to spread this news and work of God’s anointed King and messiah Jesus! The main nugget Christians should take from this is how everyone is not an evangelists, however, Christians are clearly called to proclaim Christ from our lips as well as
We can just be a testament to what beautiful blessings that we have received by being faithful to the word. Christians need to show the non-believers that there is good that comes out of having faith in the gospel. Once non-believers understand the word and how powerful it is sky’s the limit on the many blessing with one will
J. Daniel Baumann asserts that a preacher, therefore, should be a good craftsman, but never a mere technician. He should not devote too much time to form and too little to content, if a preacher studies the use of form as something apart from content, then he may become a rhetorician, an attractive speaker, but will turn out to be something less than a preacher of the gospel. God still intends for preaching to be a part of the church’s ministry (Hamilton).
Evangelism is a passion of mine and this semester has helped me to develop more as a person and strengthen my passion for evangelism. Usually when you hear the word Evangelism most of the time, you will start to fear because of rejection. During my Christian walk, sometimes I have experienced the fear of rejection as it relates to Evangelism. However, this semester has taught me not to fear." Evangelism is standing up for your faith even if everyone else remains seated 1(Earley and Wheeler
What to be preached is Christ whom they crucified; the Incarnated Word (John 1: 14 NKJV), He is the only foundation that is required for building our faith. Once it is laid it never needs to be repeated (1 Corinth. 3:11 NKJV).
To give an example of how I think he feels today’s preachers disrespect preaching would be compared to you starting your own business from nothing but hard work, dedication and a driven mindset to succeed, only to pay off for your company to be considered a billion dollar company in Forbes magazine. As you are growing your company you have things you value, rules you follow, and principles you live by, only to hand it over to a son who has no patience, thinks everything is suppose to happen in a day, has no type of respect for the sweat and tears his father put into the company, but has a different agenda in mind to make more money with little to no work included and isn’t willing to dedicate the same time his father put into the business that has kept it
The book, Putting the Truth to Work, by Daniel Doriani is a useful book which brings forth effective methods for advancing faithful biblical practices in sermon preparation and delivery. The author provides a prelude to hermeneutics with a focus toward developing sermon applications. Once the background has been set, he then talks about specific plans for implementing unique categories of Scripture in a Christocentric way. Doriani has written a lot of books on many different subjects, which encompasses hermeneutics, homiletics, and New Testament commentaries.
Christians are commanded in the Bible to take the gospel into all the world. God desires that all people know Him. However, since He is in heaven and not on the earth now, it is up to His people to show others the way to Him. Much of that testimony for Christ is through the way Christians lives are lived. It is well known that
As a church, we believe in the great commission found in Matthew 28, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. It is essential for us to reach out to our community, but first
In chapter 7, David Platt builds the case for the argument that there is no other way to get the gospel out to about ( 4.5 billion people) by missionaries alone. The church itself seeing the urgency in this matter needs to step up and take immediate action. “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” Matthew 28:19-20.If Bible believing Christians would take this command seriously and do what God has called them to do, then more people around the world would have intimate and life “ saving and changing” relationships with Jesus Christ.
Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every nation. (Mark 16:15)
