He started in the company in 1960 and he started from the bottom, as a junior chemical engineer for General Electric. He was with the company for about 40 years before he retired a very wealthy man, but through those 40 years he did a lot of things as a leader to improve General Electrics and helped making them into a very successful company. He helped in shaping General Electric into a powerhouse. I chose Jack Welch as my leader for this project because he is a very inspiring leader, who worked his way up from the bottom of the company to the CEO of General Electrics and performed very well as a …show more content…
And I agree with that. If you cant do your job, or you are hurting the company financial wise, then why should you still be there. And if you are over achieving and help the company then you should be rewarded, and that’s what Jack Welch was all about. I don’t have a problem with that, in fact I think all companies should have this system in place for their companies. Jack Welch had a grading system of his employees from one to five, which meant you were at the top and performing extraordinary well. Next, was two, which were the next strongest in the company, then came three which were in the middle, not perform well, but not under achieving. Then came the fours, which Jack Welch took caution to, but didn’t fire them and gave them a chance to prove they were worthy enough to keep the job. And last came the fives, which were the least effective, and they almost always get fired. The ones or the extraordinary performers made up ten percent of the company while the twos or the next strongest employees made up fifth teen percent of the company. The threes or the middle of the pack had the largest amount of employees, which was way up to fifty percent. The fours or the caution employees, made up fifth teen percent of the company, and last the fives or the least effective employees made up the remaining ten percent of the company, but as I stated they usually get

I believe that the United States should not return to the 1950’s. There were many problems in society that were veiled by the illusion of happiness.
I think Joe Clark is a good headmaster and have good leadership skills. Firstly, the school is notorious for it’s violent and crimes. But when Joe Clark saw this, he didn’t given up. At the first meeting of the school he expelled the students who had some serious crimes. And then in order to make school more safer he locked the door of school. And he was strict with his students, but he was concerned about everyone. When students were in trouble, he will try his best to help them. At the very beginning, no one can understand him.But finally, he help all student passes the exam and won the student’s trust and love. So in my opinion, Joe Clark is a good headmaster and he is
A leader is hardworking, determined, and persistent. The person that taught me the values that make a leader is my mom. My mom dreamed of coming to the United States to be able to provide for my siblings and me. My mom traveled to the United States and her life was in danger multiple times throughout the journey. However, my mom was determined and she trekked through mud and wilderness in order to reach her destination. My mom was persistent throughout the struggle of finding a job in California. My mom worked as a housekeeper for many families to provide for my siblings and I. Through hard work, my mom managed to save up enough money to send for my siblings and me in El Salvador. I want to believe that I exemplify my mom’s determination through

There are several important leaders in my life, but the most important one was my Meme. She had qualities that showed who she was as a leader. My Meme was kind, bold, humble, and accepted life the way it was. All of these are important in an effective leader. She taught my mother how to be a leader and eventually my mother taught me these skills as well. Not only did she pass on her wisdom of leadership to her family, but she also shared it with her friends and co-workers.
When assigned the task of identifying an individual who I believe embodies what it means to be a great leader, well-known figures such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa, Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Bill Gates and Abraham Lincoln initially come my mind. The impact of their distinct leadership styles continues to inspire people around the globe and has earned each of them undisputed leadership recognition. However, in the quiet shadows of these great leaders arises the name of another leader whose leadership influence has tremendously impacted my life over the span of twenty-two years and counting. The nature of this leader’s work consists of being a homemaker, minister’s wife, ladies’ auxiliary
Stories of leadership often fail to fully capture what the person behind the position goes through as he or she tries to institute changes in the organization. Many leadership stories tend to gloss over personal difficulties and highlight only those that make the leader appear bigger and brighter. What these stories fail to recognize is that there is much to learn from the struggles that come before the victory.
Intro: If you look at the world around you and ask the people you meet daily doing whatever it is that they do. And you ask them what it is that motivates them to wake up and go to work in the mornings. Or you ask them why is it that they remain at their current job and not seek another. The answer is usually because they’re being rewarded enough by their employer for their efforts which makes them want to stay. An employee who doesn’t feel like they’re rewarded fairly for their efforts will most likely not remain in their current position. And rewards from employers can be a lot more than just financial compensation for their efforts.
Leadership is a word that is easy to read and recite, but quite difficult to determine one single definition or characteristic. According to the dictionary, the definition of leadership is “both a research area and a practical skill, regarding the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations.” Throughout my life I have come across amazing people that made an impact on my life, whether big or small. There were people who had saved lives, completed great deeds, but when I really sat to determine who I would compose this essay about, the first person that came to mind was Roderick Henderson. Mr. Roderick Henderson is no famous person, nor is there a headliner or articles about him. He is a small town country man that has displayed leadership, courage, and strength throughout his entire life.
