Throughout the season, playing with my team members in the Angels RBI league has been a learning, enjoying and entertaining experience. On my team the Jackie Robinson nine core values are used during games and practice in many ways. These values include courage, determination, teamwork, persistence, integrity, citizenship, justice, commitment, and last but not least excellence. First of all, during practice, games, and over all on a daily basis, I use the values courage, determination, and integrity. I use my courage when I am at a game and I am next to bat. I notice that the pitcher for the other team is respectfully good and get a little worried that I will let the team down by not hitting the balls. To solve my problem I will put my courage
excellence. These were values that Jackie Robinson had created because he wanted to remind himself what he should have and do out on the field or out in life. These nine values describe how Jackie Robinson acted upon all the people who had discriminated him or disliked him just for the color of his skin. Jackie's laws are still very well know and followed today by everyday baseball players. These values are most known on April fifteenth which is known as Jackie Robinson Day. These values also have been called "Jackie Robinson's core nine values" so that automatically let's us know that Jackie Robinson had many values to help him along his

Sharon Robinson wrote Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America. Robinson published this book in 2004. “Sharon Robinson, daughter of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, is the author of several works of fiction and nonfiction” “Wikipedia 2017.” Sharon Robinson has written quite a few biographies about her father. In the biography, Promises to Keep, Robinson wrote about her father Jackie, it shows how much one person's actions could change America.
In 1945, The United States of America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. Once thousands of lives were ended, Japan finally decided to surrender thus ending World War II. While all the men were off at war, women took over the nation wide popular sport, baseball. This inspired the movie A League of Their Own. Once the war ended however, men resumed their spot in Baseball. One man who changed Baseball forever, was Jackie Robinson. This was before African Americans had just as much rights as white men, and so an African American baseball player like Jackie Robinson was very VERY frowned upon. That inspired a movie called, 42: The Jackie Robinson Story. I summarize his story in the following:
I liked that Jackie Robinson made the suggestion of not dividing blacks and whites. I did not like how the president wants to divide blacks and whites. I liked that Jackie tried to make something change. I liked it when Jackie is just trying to improve the community. I did not think that the president should do that to the people
What would you feel like to be the first modern African American to play major league baseball? Well, you don’t because this courageous man named John(Jackie) Robinson took over that role.
Jackie Robinson is the story I am going to be writing about. It is about a black baseball player and he has just went into the World Series. He had broken the color barrier for his country and he knew he was going to get a lot of hate because of the color of his skin. Feng Ru was the Chinese man of aviation. He created planes for a living and that changed his home country because they can get around much easier. Melba Bee was a girl who had to walk 10 miles a day to get to class when there was a school right next to their house. However, that school was an all white school, so they were protesting. They sued the school and they later were able to get into the school.
Brave, courageous, daring, bold, these all describe the baseball legend Jackie Robinson. Jackie was the first African American major league baseball player. (Jackie Robinson official website) Things were not always easy but he had many supporters and motivators to keep him going.( Britannica encyclopedia) Since Jackie never gave up through all of the harsh comments and criticism as he carried on being the first African American baseball player, African Americans are now allowed to play in the major leagues and all around the world.
Stealing Home is a moving and piercing account of a man who was determined to play baseball regardless of the color of his skin. This biography tells the story of Jackie Robinson, the first black man to play in baseball's major leagues in the United States. In his eagerness to fight for his rights and the rights of others both on and off the baseball field, Jackie Robinson was not only a great ball player but also a true American hero. He once said, "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." Robinson truly lived an important life, which still influences people today.
Growing up as an African American during a time of discrimination and segregation in the United States took a lot of bravery. Blacks who grew up during this era were constantly pushed around, patiently awaiting the day they could use the same bathroom as a White man. One of the first men to help break this barrier is Jackie Robinson. Unlike the great MLK, Robinson was able to fight for change with something other than his words; he broke down segregation in America with a bat and a glove.
In the biography Jackie Robinson and the American Dilemma by John R. M. Wilson, it tells the story of racial injustice done after world war II and explains how Jackie Robinson was pioneer of better race relations in the United States. The obstacles Jackie Robinson overcame were amazing, he had the responsibility to convert the institutions, customs, and attitudes that had defined race relations in the United States. Seldom has history ever placed so much of a strain on one person. I am addressing the importance of Jackie Robinson’s trials and triumphs to American racial dynamics in the post war period to show how Robinson was a prominent figure in the civil rights movement and brought baseball fans together regardless of race.
Since the formation of America, there have been many people who helped create the country as it is known today. Their lives and choices affected the course of history of the US for the better. Many of these characters attacked the racism of America. African Americans have had to deal with great discrimination and unequal treatment acted upon them. Because of this, these great figures rose up to fight against racism and give African Americans the rights they deserve. One of these contributors to American culture that fought against racism was Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson was a famous baseball player who aided in the integration of African Americans in many areas of life.
The legacy of Jackie Robinson goes beyond the April 15, 1947 afternoon at Ebbets Field, when the Brooklyn Dodger infielder became the first black in the 20th century to play baseball in the major leagues. He changed the sport, and he changed the attitude of a lot of people in this country, Jackie Robinson fought for all the people that were fortunate, a lot of them are, especially the minority guys, to be able to play in the major leagues and the impact on the people of color today.
The game of baseball has been argued to be the number one game in America and also around the world. Respectively the game is also known as “America’s pastime” had over 14 million people in the U.S. alone watching the World Series in 20151. Due to the growing popularity of baseball throughout the world the players of Major League Baseball (MLB) have become more diverse.
