On Friday, May 27, I had the opportunity to sit down and interview Jackie Martinie. Jackie currently serves as the Team Leader and as a Vice President for the Large and Agribusiness sector within the Credit Services Division at Farm Credit Illinois. She has been with Farm Credit Illinois since 2010. Before I begin this write up, let me express how deeply I enjoyed the conversation that Jackie and I had. Jackie is extremely talented, and has an internal drive that inspired and motivated me to do more with my time and the opportunities I have at hand. Jackie grew up right down the road in Champaign. She attended St. Matthew Elementary school through eighth grade and then attended high school at Champaign Central. Growing up, Jackie’s parents were both entrepreneurs. Her father was into investing, which led Jackie to make her first investment at the age of 18. When most kids were out goofing off in high school or preparing for college, Jackie was buying single-family homes off the market. In order to make her first investment though, she needed a loan. At the time of her loan, there was a new loan officer in the area that Jackie went to do business with. After an application and credit review, Tom Tracy signed Jackie her very first loan. Little did she know at that time that she would end up working for Tom, on more than one occasion. Jackie attended Illinois State University where she majored in Athletic Training.
