The herb she promoted is called Essiac. which is her last name backwards. She made a tea from the Essiac. Essiac is made of four main herbs that grow in the wilderness of Ontario, Canada. The original formula is believed to have its roots from the native Canadian Ojibway Indians.
On a small peninsula, 70 miles southwest of New Orleans, there is a single stretch of road that leads into a fascinating place called Isle de Jean Charles. This is a place where living off the land is a way of life that is quickly becoming impossible to accomplish. The wetlands that used to provide nourishment for the plants and wildlife have now been replaced with the water from the Gulf and neither the freshwater marshes nor the vegetation were able to sustain this intrusion. Where there used to be a forest full of animals for trapping and hunting, there is salty water rippled only by poisoned carcasses of massive oak trees that still stand. The people living on the island are desperate and the Army Corps of Engineers has the power to help. The residents of Isle de Jean Charles deserve to see their children and grandchildren grow up on the land that they call home, but at what cost?
French explorer Jacques Cartier should be recognized in the Hall of Fame because he claimed Canada for France. Cartier was born December 1, 1534, in Saint-Malo, Brittany, into a well-respected marine family (Ages of Exploration - Jacques Cartier). As Cartier was the first mate on his father’s fishing boat, the French king soon heard about his boating skills from the bishop of Saint-Malo. King Francis l commissioned Cartier to seek out precious metals and spices in North America. Over the course of three voyages, Jacques explored the St. Lawrence Gulf and the Eastern coast of Canada.
“The advice I give to all adventurers is to seek a place where they may sleep in safety,” as stated by Samuel De champlain. Being born to a family of marines, Samuel De Champlain was exposed to navigators like his father and uncle who taught him how to navigate, draw, make nautical charts, and write practical reports. Samuel De Champlain was an explorer who sailed under the France flag in the 1600s, he later changed the world by discovering and claiming parts of the new world.
"We should set out to create not a colony properly speaking in Algeria, but rather the extension of France itself across the Mediterranean.” Words spoken by Alexis de Tocqueville himself, the man who was known to have the answer to the question of Algeria. He believed strongly in racial segregation in Algeria and saw this as an important factor if France wished to make Algeria an extension of its state. This lack of French social cohesion was something Tocqueville studied at length after his experience in America. He believed “that the French needed a national project to bring the country together, and the conquest and settlement of Algeria could be it.” Unlike the United States, Tocqueville saw the fundamental inequality of French society as a major obstacle to social cohesion as even the growing middle class in France was seeing themselves as

Ch.10: May 12, 1831 Alexis De Tocqueville and Gustave de Beaumont arrived in New York. Tocqueville’s judgements in America were the wages are higher and the cost of living was lower than in Europe. In his perspective, America was undifferentiated middle-class society. The U.S rate of population growth was high doubling every 22 years. In the west, five new states entered the Union in 1830s and 1840s. Population movement from farm to cities increased the growth in large cities that made new towns in the Northeast and Northwest. The Growth of cities undermined the family as a unit of economic production. Husbands were away from the house during work hours and the wife took control of the home. However, in the lower class women had to work also.
Ending Napoleon Bonaparte's military leadership and reign as emperor of France, the Battle of Waterloo signaled the end of France's domination over Europe. Taking place in Belgium on June 18, 1815, the French army, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, was defeated by British and Prussian forces. Riding away from the battle with tears after the crushing defeat, Bonaparte abdicated as emperor and was exiled from France for the second time. During his reign, he led France through a series of successful battles against surrounding European nations and expanded the empire throughout west and central Europe (History.com staff (A), 2009). Napoleon Bonaparte, born in August 15, 1769, ruled the throne from 1804 to 1815 as the emperor and military leader of France.
Before facing the pressure from the royal court, Marie Antoinette liked to have time for herself and to baths everyday. Contrary to most of the people in Versailles, who thought water could pass through their pores and let the devil enter, she loved being clean.
Becoming captain had tons of responsibility and many tasks to complete and I knew I wanted that position. Before I auditioned for captain I just thought you had to perform a routine in front of the three judges and they would choose whoever was the best and spinning their equipment and dancing. Also, I thought the band director would use favoritism and choose whoever he wanted as captain. I was very close with the band director, but I wanted him to choose who deserved captain not just who he likes the most out of the girls that auditioned for captain.

Simone de Beauvoir, French writer and philosopher, led an interesting and controversial life. Though categorized as a feminist, Beauvoir did not refer to or categorize herself as such until much later in life, and paved the way for women in France in the 20th century by starting a movement for women to be more equal with men. Because of this, women across the world have had better opportunities, though their struggle continues. Background
Times have changed in the venerated world of those devoted so greatly to the love of the lord, yet in this change has aroused a nuance of thinking of how that love should be portrayed to the masses. Many factions have been roused and felled throughout the many ages of Christianity, many holding greater disdain for their fellow believers than even that of the infidel. In all realizing that some of these paragons of virtue have no real admiration for the religion of which they stand as advocates, but that in their lust for power they use the Church as their proxy for attaining greater strength and influence.
Believe me, being a leader is not an easy job. If you can accomplish all these things then you can be a true leader. From my own experience, being a captain is not easy. Even I struggle with these qualities. The pressure of being a leader of is overwhelming, and takes hard work to accomplish. “Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile,” by Vince
