February 3rd, a conservation group by the name of “Conservation CATalyst” released a video of the only known wild jaguar in the United States, and stated that they had been tracking him for nearly three years (Bugbee, Neils, and Serraglio 2016). The video shows the muscular, bright cat, named “El Jefe” roaming around in the Santa Rita mountains, just thirty or so miles away from Tuscon, Arizona. When the video was released, it blew up, appearing on big news sources like CNN, Fox News, and ABC News. When I saw this, it caught my attention immediately. I thought jaguars only lived in South America… How could there possibly be a wild jaguar in Arizona? Historically

The Amur tiger, more commonly known as the Siberian tiger’s place origin remains unknown. However, there are two different theories that say otherwise. These big furry friends are scientifically called Panthera tigris altaica. The Siberian tiger is the largest wild cat in the world. It is best known for its unique stripes patterns. These rare designs lay on top of their fur covered skin. An average male tiger weighs around 660 pounds, and a female is about the same capacity, only a few pounds less. A healthy Siberian tiger is about ten to eleven feet long, from it’s nose to the end of it’s tail. No two tigers look the same, well that is due to their intriguing stripes that were mentioned earlier. Siberian tigers have fewer, paler stripes, compared to any other ordinary tiger. The research gathered will display how the Siberian tigers physical features, cultural habitat, and social conduct make it the most riveting animal in the world.

I plan to major in wildlife sciences because it propels me towards my career in wildlife veterinary science. During my first four years, I plan to study abroad in Tanzania and further my knowledge in wildlife animals and their environment. After I obtain my bachelors degree, I'm going to intern with an actual wildlife veterinarian. Then, I am going to attend Auburn's College of Veterinarian Medicine and receive a master's degree. When all of that is finished, I plan to own my own wildlife rescue center that resembles Noah's Ark in Locust Grove,
One thing that makes jaguars so unique is their hunting ability. They aren't afraid to get their prey in water. “Jaguars have the ability to swim and catch their prey.” according to the defenders of wildlife. They also hunt at dark, it’s one of their secret weapons! That is a pretty distinctive way to hunt. A jaguars feature is astonishing. “Their size from head to body is 6 feet. Not including the jaguars tail, which can be 27 to 36 inches long.” says the defenders of wildlife. That is very big standing up. Jaguars have these black spots called rosettes because they look like roses on their fur. The fur of a jaguar is usually tan or orange, although some jaguar's fur could be pure black with no rosettes. It is pretty
