Georgia was the last of the thirteen colonies to be planted. Georgia was used as a buffer to protect Caroline’s from dangerous Spaniards from Florida and unfriendly French from Louisiana. Georgia was founded by James Oglethorpe in 1733 and it was the 13th colony formed. In 1742 Oglethorpe defeated the Spanish at the battle of bloody marsh. In 1743 he left for England and never came back. Then in 1758 Georgia was divided into eight parishes. Four more were added in 1765. In 1776 when Georgia declared its independence to British rule, the revolutionary state government made Savannah the capital, and an executive council was elected.
The main dominations of most of the colonies of New England in 1680 to 1760 were Anglicanism and Congregationalism. However, new church movements were created such as Baptists, Methodists, Quakers, and much more. These religions were sometimes called “Dissenters” because they were descendants of Protestantism. There were very many complications within Christianity and an interesting one happened in Salem, Massachusetts.
During the Charter period of 1732, Georgia is a success because there was a lot of problems Georgia had to go through that made Georgia that good of a colony. In many different opinions, some may think that Georgia was a really good colony and a good place to be in. Was Georgia’s charter really a success? Or was it a Failure.To prove their statement, Georgia had charity, defense and their climate, soil, and land that makes Georgia a success.
During the 1700’s, European nations colonized in the newly discovered Americas. Two regions evolved by the English settlers into New England colony and the Chesapeake Bay colony. Even though they were coming from England with the same ethnicity, they were significantly different from the way the colonies were set up. These differences stemmed from the reason why the settlers decided to come to the new world. Later on the two regions developed to have distinct societies.
The politics of the southern colonies first began in 1607 during the founding of Jamestown, Virginia. This was the first British colony in America and the new world. The colonists sent to Jamestown were sent to the new world to attempt to make money and to try to find gold for the joint-stock company. The southern colony of Virginia started off as to being governed by the Virginia company. What this meant is that until 1624 Virginia would be a royal charter governed and controlled by the Virginia company. But, before Virginia would be controlled by the king and the British colonies the first British assembly in the Americas took place. The house of Burgesses in 1619 was the first representative democracy in the colonies. But Virginia was not the only colony that at one point controlled by another group other than the king, it is the colony of Maryland. The founding of the English colonies, which included setting up a social and economic blueprint, occurred in the early 17th century, decades before America became a country of its own. At first, the colonies were split up between two regions: The Chesapeake (Virginia, Maryland) and New England (Massachusetts Bay).
In 1629 King Charles decided to make England a colony. In 1729 north and South Carolina a colony. The colony's were taken over by the King and started to be a colony. The first settlement was Charles Town’s. England was one of the colonies.
In 1733, Oglethorpe and a group of 120 settlers began the colony of Georgia in the present-day city of Savannah. During this time, Spain, France, and England all claimed rights to the land in the Georgia Colony.

It could be argued that it was Augustine's famous mission in 597 A.D. from the Pope in Rome to King Aethelbert of Kent that really set up the future course of Christianity in Britain, creating a strong alliance between Christianity and Kingship. We do know that the church, St Peter on the wall was built in 654 A. D. and is known as the oldest church in England that is still in use.
