Many of us have experienced a sublime moment. For instance, every time I check on Instagram, I see pictures of different islands of Greece. One of my favorite destinations is Santorini, Greece. It is a place that I have always dreamt to visit because it is a landscape on top of a mountain. Also, it is famous for their whitewashed, cubiform houses and their famous St. Spyridonas Church’s blue dome. It can be a breathtaking to anyone who sees pictures of Santorini either online or in an advertisement. Just like many different things can make a person awe about something, there are people who will find animals as sublime. Some people find a sublime just by looking at a shark or looking a tiger. Now, what are the different experiences of sublime …show more content…
Possibly, the main reason why sharks are more interesting than tigers is that sharks are more fascinating, and they have their own reputation of being dangerous. Many of us have seen the movie, Jaws, by Steven Spielberg. In this movie, the shark is terrorizing a small town by killing some visitors and residences. He is categorized as a man-eater. However, based on the movie, only the great white shark is terrorizing the area and not a different species. We know how dangerous the great white shark is. Although this may be true, there are other sharks that can cause sublime to people. According to Dr. Alex Mustard, there is an exciting place where people are able to dive and interact with sharks at the Bahamas. Dr. Mustard explained there are different sharks that live in the Bahamas Reef such as Caribbean Reef Shark, Oceanic Whitetip, Great Hammerhead, Tiger Shark, and Bull Shark. These animals can be seen in their own habitat, and it will make any human excited to dive and see them upclose. For instance, I have never seen a Great Hammerhead shark before, but I would like to see it because this is a very distinct shark compared to the other species. I will definitely will be mesmerized seeing a hammerhead shape shark. Perhaps, this shark is not as dangerous at …show more content…
For people, tigers are more interesting than sharks. Unfortunately, these animals more difficult to appreciate than sharks because tigers lived in the jungle compared to sharks that they live in the ocean. It is clear that many people find tigers are more sublime than sharks. Sadly, the only way for us to appreciate more about this animal, the person must visit a zoo instead of visiting a jungle in India. Definitely, tigers are more beautiful than sharks. Tigers can be seen with white and orange fur, but the most important, tigers have many stripes. I have to say that tigers are definitely beautiful. My favorite tiger is the white tiger because they have a beautiful white fur and, if not mistaken, some of them have blue eyes. Anyone can fall in love with these animals. For instance, according to Gary Medina, there is a story about a man named David Villalobos who jumped in the tiger enclosure at the Bronx Zoo. There are people who find tigers as a “spiritual thing” just like Villalobos. This is probably someone who wants to feel powerful. Many people like to look for power and danger in a sense to find the meaning of life. For instance, we have seen people car racing on the streets because they want to feel that power and danger, but many of them ended dead due to losing control of their car or committed an accident.
Both these sharks feed on fish and the Great White is also known to feed on larger prey. The Great White Sharks have been known to attack humans swimming and surfing in the seas. The Tiger Shark is approximately 4.5 meters long and has a reputation for eating a wide range of animals and even inanimate objects. They have found license plates in the stomach of a Tiger Shark. Because of its discernment regarding food, this shark is one of the most dangerous ones for human attacks. The Sand Tiger Shark, not to be confused with the Tiger Shark, even though large, is relatively peaceful and will only attack if provoked. The Nurse Shark will reach approximately 4.3 meters and favor shallow temperate waters. The Blue Shark prefers the deep, cooler waters of the tropical and temperate oceans. They can give birth to large litters from 25 to 100 pups at one time. The Mako Shark vary in length between 2.7 to 4.5 meters. These sharks are in the same family as the Great White Sharks so they can be fairly aggressive. The most aggressive shark is the Bull Shark. This shark is known as being unpredictable and aggressive even towards humans. Many of the attacks and fatalities recorded each year is from this shark. The Bull Shark is found in warm, shallow waters and can live in both freshwater and saltwater environments. In fact, it is said that JAWS was based on a Bull Shark, but since the Great White is a better looking,
Tigers are a fascinating, and endangered, animal. They develop fast, and go off on their own when they’re mature. Tigers live in various climates, and eat various things as well. They are very strong, and have amazing energy. Not only are they magnificent to watch, but there are many interesting, and not well known, facts about them.
Most people are terrified of sharks and want nothing to do with them others love them I’m one of the ones that love them I think they are just misunderstood intelligent creatures and this will help you realize that too. Sharks have been on earth for at least 420 million years ago that’s 200 million years before the first dinosaur! Sharks outlive humans they have been on earth longer and have longer life spans the oldest living shark is 500 years old while the average human can live as long as 70 years in perfect health. Sharks like people come in all shapes and sizes and swim everywhere from the arctic circle to the Caribbean. Some sharks are big some little some long and thin some wide and short they come in every size imaginable and in the weirdest conditions like seas and oceans with other animals ready to eat any injured sharks to lakes hunting fish they live almost everywhere.
The tiger is the first animal on the totem pole. The tiger symbolizes raw feelings and emotions, the ability to trust yourself, willpower, unpredictability in actions and feelings, and the courage to face problems. I posses these traits, because I am able to trust in myself and have the courage to face life's hardest problems. I am able
The movie shark water is explaining how amazing and beautiful the sharks are. They are trying to tell us in the movie that sharks are not dangerous and that they should be protect not killed. The mission of the film is to go in country where there is illegal fishing and try to stop it. They are telling us that sharks are really important in ecosystem of this world and also important in the food chain of the sea. But the shark week is trying to tell people how big and dangerous sharks are. All the videos I watched of the shark week they were showing people getting attack or even kill be the sharks. Most of the time they are looking for the biggest sharks in this world just to show people how big they can be. I thinks that people are scared
The text Jaws is an American Thriller film released in 1975. It is a suspenseful, tense script that focuses on the use of iconography, narrative conventions and character conventions to build a masterpiece of thriller text. Through the use of these elements, Jaws becomes an effective example of the codes and conventions of the thriller genre.
Media reportings are constantly telling us about shark sightings, and when an attack does happen either blowing it out of proportions or not telling the full story on how the human could have been at fault. Movies such as Jaws, Jurassic Shark, Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, Hammerhead/SharkMan, Bait, Shark Night, Sharknado and Reef are all films that delineate sharks as terrifying, horrid, oversized, and vengeful creatures that go after humans with only the intent to kill and eat.
Sharks are seen in many eyes as the king of the ocean. There are many different types of sharks, and some can even pose a threat to human lives. There are many movies about sharks, and while most of them are exaggerated, sharks are still undoubtedly one of the most vicious creatures in the world. Sharks are a large species with many different characteristics and diversities.
Sharks, varying in size, are widely located around the world. The longest shark, the Whale Shark, spans 60 feet long and can weigh up to 70 tons. These sharks are not dangerous to humans because they are filter feeders. Usually, a female shark gives birth to around 10 pups at a time. While she nurses the pups, she keeps them in the shallow water to protect them from male sharks who eat baby pups. Sharks are generally not friendly to humans. They can detect one sole drop of blood in more than a million gallons of water. ⅔ of the shark's brain is given over to interpreting blood. Once they smell the blood, the sharks go into a crazy frenzy, where their teeth are pushed out and jaws open wide. The great white shark is probably the most deadly
iger Sharks are amongst the largest sharks in the world; they are in the top three most aggressive and dangerous sharks to exist. With stripes in their youth that resemble those of tigers, their name can quickly be remembered. Their appearance changes as they grow making them appear similar to great white sharks but in smaller sizes. Tiger sharks are responsible for a portion of shark attacks each year although they remain unknown or significantly less known than the larger great white sharks. An in-depth analysis of tiger sharks describe their habitat, reproduction, morphology, ecology and their importance in marine environments.
Don’t you like it to watch, that how a ferocious, powerful & feared animal like a Tiger, picking up its young ones by her mouth with such gentleness and care, the elephants playing with water, the colorful frogs hunting for their prey, the soaring kite flying with such swiftness and gliding through the wind. The calm streams, releasing the slow sound of the water flowing, the waves on a shore crashing on the rocks, the green leaves reflecting the sunlight and just so much more that my words can’t even
Since the creation of Jaws, the fear of sharks has increased rapidly. Because of this fear, the amount of sharks being killed per year has greatly increased. Since 1975, the U.S shark catch has risen from 148 tons to over 8,765 tons. More than one hundred million sharks are killed per year. Sharks attack about nineteen times per year and only kill about one person every two years (Preston, 1995). Saving the sharks is not an easy task. Unlike dolphins and turtles, who are also endangered, sharks are not cuddly cute creatures and are not generally appealing. It is hard to get a population behind a cause that they don’t understand. Sharks, to society, are the mean, mindless, vicious creatures portrayed by the media and old-wives tales and because of this, people don’t care whether or not they get killed.
White tigers are a vastly uncommon type of tiger. Most all white tigers live in captivity because of how extremely rare they are. (http://animalstime.com/white-tiger-facts-white-tiger-habitat-diet/) On the positive side white tigers are increasing because people are trying to save them. White tigers reveal a white coat on them, which makes them more intriguing. You will find that white tigers are usually bigger than an orange tiger they also have blue eyes. White tigers are mutant to orange tigers.
Many different natural and manmade things can be interpreted as aesthetically sublime. Things that are sublime are all around, and they attract a lot of attention from the public. Most tourist attractions are considered sublime. The sublime portrays the strong emotions of awe that people have when they see powerful forces of the natural world. Along with tourist attractions being sublime, most art pieces, especially paintings, are sublime. While some artists paint natural, sublime scenes like mountains, volcanoes, and waterfalls, the artists Erich Mercker, Hans Müller, and Fritz Gärtner demonstrate the sublime by painting industrial scenes that are immense in size and contain bright orange molten metal which creates feelings of power and fear.
Longinus defined the sublime as differing from beauty and evoking more intense emotions by vastness, a quality that inspires awe. Whereas beauty may be found in the small, the smooth, the light and the everyday, the sublime is vast, irregular, obscure and superhuman (pg. 889).
