“Is a Totalitarian Government Good for the World?” The Man with the Cap, 9 Nov. 2016, www.themanwiththecap.com/is-a-totalitarian-government-good-for-the-world/. The general argument made by the author Jay-R Gatdula in his article ‘Is a Totalitarian Government Good for the World?’ is that a totalitarian government would bring unity and take care of all the world and not just places we care about. More specifically, he argues that if a totalitarian government was in place, we would care about other countries and places that don’t have it as good as us and help them out and ourselves equally. In this passage, Jay R Gatdula is suggesting that a totalitarian government would be good for all people to join together and create a one world government …show more content…
More specifically, I don’t think one person or group should rule the world and tell us what to do and is highly unstable. For example, Joseph Stalin took over the Soviet Union and started to execute any people who were not in alignment with the goals of the state. If it gets to the point where the ruler is murdering people, it would be a huge mistake. This usually happens because the ruler went power crazy. Although Jay-R Gatdula might object that a totalitarian government should be put into place, I maintain that a totalitarian government should not occur because a dystopian world could result in the end and would most likely be an apocalyptic world after. Therefore, I conclude that a totalitarian government would not be a good thing for the world because of power crazy rulers and there would be no freedom to the …show more content…
More specifically, they argue that a totalitarian government is in fact beneficial for many countries and our world through some listed ways. The author writes, “Many countries and their citizens have been brought out from depression and despair to power and huge economic growth, from totalitaristic figure heads.” In this passage, baroncampbell is suggesting that the authoritarian leaders of this kind of government have all, for the most part, benefited and brought the countries and areas they rule. He also thinks that this government can also unite nations to bring countries out of slumps and help one another. In conclusion, baroncampbell’s belief is that a totalitarian government has some good aspects to it and would function well because of the
In reading Zenas Leonard’s account of his party’s interaction with the Shoshone and Paiute people, one gets the clear sense that the American fur trappers did not understand, nor trust the natives of the Great Basin. The native’s continued presence and persistence in interacting with the fur trappers is seen as a threat. The fur trapper’s stollen beaver traps further insight some of the American trappers to seek their own revenge and justice on the natives--death. Although, Captain Walker put an immediate stop to the “revenge” the trappers were committing, the effects of the trappers revenge proved to be detrimental to future interactions with the Indians. Now, the fur trappers saw any approach from the the natives as a hostile and aggressive stance against them in revenge for their murdered comrades.
In the twentieth century many Europeans liked the idea of having a totalitarian government. The people in Europe found this to be somewhat comforting. They knew that things would be okay if everything was controlled. Part of this was the idea “all for one and one for all”. For this to work out, there were things that had to be contributed to the governments. There were economic, social, and political conditions that helped to transition from the current government that they were using to the totalitarian government.
Totalitarianism is a concept of government that emerged from the ruins of war. Although it has existed since the dawn of the human era, the twentieth century is where this form of government flourished.
Totalitarianism is a form of rule in which the government has complete or “total” control over society. In a totalitarian dictatorship, people do not have individual freedom, and the government controls every aspect of an individual’s life. In order to achieve this type of dominance over society the dictator instills fear into everyone which makes totalitarianism a cruel form of government.
A totalitarian government is a government in which the state has complete control and acts dictatorial. In Aldous Huxley’s most widely acclaimed novel, Brave New World, government regulation on scientific advancement is criticized
Totalitarianism is defined as a political system of government in which those in power have complete control and do not allow people to oppose them. Those in power are a single party dictatorship in which one party controls state, and all other parties are forbidden. Other important features that distinguish or help define totalitarianism include restricted or eliminated constitutional rights, state terrorism, and totalitarian rulers are known as ideological dictators. The government of Oceania, in the novel 1984, is an example of totalitarian society. Germany, under Adolf Hitler’s National Socialism is another example of totalitarianism. Orwell’s Oceania has both similarities and differences to the totalitarian states of the twentieth
This implies a relationship in which the state through its instruments dominates society. Hence in the totalitarian state all political, economic, social, cultural and intellectual activities should be directed towards fulfilling the aims of the state” (“Totalitarianism”, 1999). In a totalitarian state, individuals have no rights and they must obey the government without question. If individuals questioned or disagreed with the government, they were silenced by death or prison.

A totalitarian government thrives on selfishness and strive for goals that are always for the benefit of one person or a small group of people that are in power. The most common example of this in world history is Nazi Germany during World War II. This flaw in political history make up a time that most people try to forget. The control that Hitler had over Nazi Germany brought about countless social, economical, and political issues to Europe. His society was founded on a racist hatred towards the

The goal of a risk assessment is to figure out all of the risks and vulnerabilities there are, or could possibly be within a business. The goal of a risk management plan is to then figure out how to mitigate those risks and vulnerabilities to lessen the impact on the business if ever one should arise. Creating a plan helps not only to identify any risks, but also helps to choose the best solutions available to mitigate those risks. If a risk management plan is not created and implemented, there is greater chance of failure.
The big question is how should we use power. Niccolo Machiavelli was a staunch defender of totalitarianism and in his famous work The Prince, he states that a Prince is better when he is feared rather than loved. A Prince is better feared than loved because he has more authority and fear lasts longer than love. A prince will have more authority over his people because when a prince is feared and he sets his rules people will do their best to avoid violating these rules. Thus, they will avoid punishment.
