Dedé Mirabal was the sister who survived and persevered through constant grief and loss. She felt forced to fake a smile and pretend that her life was perfect. On page 65 it states, “I’m my own person. I’m tired of being the daughter of a legend,” (Alvarez.) Most of her life she was overlooked because of the death of her sisters, but she was a hero too. Despite the marvelous life’s that her sisters lived , she was forced to live most of her life without them. Dedé is a symbol of the one who was left behind. Her sisters’ left her to live in their legacy. She had a lot to live up to, but managed to rise above and make a name for herself.

Alejandra Torres is the name of the angel that blessed my life with many memories. She accomplished everything from moving to a different country to serving the country that had provided her with many opportunities as a U.S. Naval Sargent. She has traveled all over the world from Asia to Mexico to Europe living the life that I want to live doing something she loved. She was a Breast Cancer survivor. That never stopped her, nothing really stopped her on that note. When the cancer was cleared she asked to be deployed to a Hawaiian base where she lived for a good while and she met my uncle Carlos Torres and got married there too!

Credibility is something that takes a lot of time to gain, but can be lost in an instance. When someone or something is credible that means they are easily trusted or believed in because of what they have done in the past. For example Nike lost some credibility when new came out they were producing their products in sweatshops across the world. However since that they have worked on that problem and gained back their credibility, but it took some time. Credibility is a great quality to have, it means you are trustworthy and people respect you. Furthermore Alex Rodriguez is another example that shows why credibility is an important quality and how cheating affects it.
