Michaelle Jean is a Catholic who was born on September 6, 1957, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This year she is 59 years old. In her early life, she lived a middle-class life. Her parents decided not to let her go to school because she would have to swear under the dictator, François "Papa Doc" Duvalier. Instead, Michaelle was home-schooled. Her father got tortured, so he fled to Thetford Mines, Quebec in 1967, and the following year, Michaelle and the rest of her family joined. The family eventually separated because her father became violent. Michaelle left with her mother and sister to go to Montreal. She received a bachelor's degree in Italian and Spanish at the Université de Montréal. She received many scholarships to let to make trips to Italy to study at the Perugia, Florence, and Milan universities. She knew how to speak five languages and worked for shelters for abused women. She married a Canadian filmmaker, Jean-Daniel Lafond, and adopted Marie-Éden from Jacmel.

She also realistically portrayed her character because when Lucille was pregnant so was Lucy. Ball is known as one of the most influential women today because she opened the door for future women in comedy. Throughout her lifespan, Lucille Ball continually opened the door for women in comedy and television, changed the way women were perceived in the media, and was even the first woman to own a television studio.

Throughout his childhood Logan (Tachnechdorus) attained advantageous values and social etiquette. One particular influential ally was a Quaker identified as James Logan who not only provided Tachnechdorus with his name but also educated him until he befriended the future war leader . However, it was after one unprovoked fatal incident involving other settlers that Logan, who once considered the white people as his allies, quickly changed his opinion of them. Hostility erupted within this once diplomatic, unbiased and compassionate man. Recognizing the conflict among the two cultures became the major cause of Logan to take vengeance.
Jan Platt was born in 1936 to Peter and Adele Kaminis. From the time she was young Platt was introduced to nature and her love for it only continued to grow. As a family, her parents and her sister, Bobbie Lou, spent their time fishing and swimming all over the Tampa Bay area. Platt attended Hillsborough High School where she excelled. She attended Florida State University where she was the president of the student senate the vice president of the student body. She graduated Pi Beta Kappa (oldest and most respected academic honors society in the United States.). Up until this point in her life one could say she had had it easily. She was met with her first true hardship when she enrolled as the only woman at the University of Florida Law School.
A school teacher, a husband, and a father, Dan Coughenour is a very dedicated man. Dan was born on January 22, 1969 to Richard and Sue Coughenour. He grew up in Macon, Georgia where he lived with his mom and dad and two brothers. He was the middle child in his family and didn’t mind it at all. As a young boy, he went to a private school. Once he went to highschool he decided to go to a public school. As a child, his favorite memory was getting to see his grandparents in North Carolina. They lived eight hours away so he didn’t get to see them but once or twice a year. He also enjoyed going to Sunset Beach, NC every summer. After high school he went off to Valdosta State College planning to become a school teacher.
Hugh Williamson was born on December 15th, 1735 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. As a child, his father sent him off to get a liberal education; many family issues arose, such as, his parent’s careers and his mother, Mary Davison, captured by Blackbeard. As an adult, Hugh had many different jobs and moved from state to state. Hugh continued in the mercantile business with his brother, and also reentered private medical practice in North Carolina. In 1776 he was elected into the Continental Congress, and signed the Declaration of Independence. At 44 years old, he married Maria Apthorpe and had 2 children. In his later life, After his 2 sons and wife’s death, he gave up his profession as a physician, and continued writing philosophical publications in New York. On May 22nd, 1819 Hugh Williamson died in New York City.

When North East Ohio Medical University sponsored a student led project, BetheBeautifulU was formed. Our campaign’s goal is to expose social media’s negative effect on teenage self-esteem due to its focus on Eurocentric standards of beauty. BetheBeautifulU’s purpose was to confront Cleveland's high school issues with self-esteem hidden within high school culture. We came up with numerous topics, like body positivity, but the one that was deeply anchored in our school was colorism. Colorism in Cleveland school districts and the media perpetuates the idea that lighter skinned people are more beautiful and most accepted compared to dark skin people. A professional is a person who relates to a job that requires special education, training, or skill. Max Weber, in his theories believed that there was set qualifications that allowed a specific person to be regarded as a so called professional. When comparing 19th century baseball players to Weber’s ideals, this specific criterion which includes qualifications such as, full time occupation, clientele, promotions, power and doctrine, and vocational qualifications among many others help to decide whether these players can be considered professionals. According to Weber’s theory, baseball players mainly were not professionalized because they mainly lacked power, clientele, and salaries.
Friedrich Froebel, a German educationalist, was born on April 21, 1782 in Oberweissbach, Germany. When he was only nine months old, his mother passed away. His father, a Lutheran pastor, remarried when Froebel was four years old. Unfortunately, Froebel had a very unhappy childhood and was neglected by his father and stepmother. He spent most of his childhood outside in gardens. Spending so much time outside led him to develop a love of nature, which later influenced his views on the way children should be educated.
