Jennys Nunez moved to the United States from Colombia. After high school she joined the Armed forces specializing in logistics and served in two branches, the Army National Guard, and the Air Force Reserve. She also served oversees during Operation Iraqi Freedom and awarded the Global War Medal in 2003. In 2009, she proceeded to work at the Miami VA Healthcare System in the medical administration office. Her service continuity, passion to help others, and the will and desire to learn allowed her to welcome new challenges to understand the complexities in the workplace. According to the mother, last week the client arrived home with a scrape on her knee. On 6/7/16 the client arrived home with big bruises under her right arm and right leg. The bruises were observed by the RP. The mother is not happy with the treatment her daughter is receiving at the day program. On this date worker spoke with Mrs. Julie Johnson after meeting Mrs. Marilyn Beaird. Ms. Johnson stated she wanted her mother taken care of and did not care what happened to her father. According to Mrs. Johnson, her father has always been a mean person and beat her and her mother. Mrs. Johnson is afraid Mr. Beaird will flip out one day and kill everyone in the home himself included. Due to this Mrs. Johnson had Mr. Beaird committed a few days ago. She is now afraid that if Mr. Beaird returns home he will "finish the job." According to Mrs. Johnson, her father has many connections due to his mining work and his wealth.

She could not escape the barrage of malicious texts, phone calls, and social media post originating from an individual who she had no connection with before. The victim, whom was an 18 year old high school student at that point, tried out pornography website. She did not realize that her past would come to haunt her 15 years later. The perpetrator, Kassandra Cruez found on a pornography website and tracked down the actress through her social media accounts. Cruz gained access to the victim’s social media by creating an account being a fake persona of male U.S. Marine named Giovanni and sending friend requests. Lucia Esperanza is a student with multiple disabilities who attends Windmill Elementary School. She lives in a second floor apartment with her parents, two brothers and grandmother. Lucia’s parents are not United States citizens, however, they both are legal residents. They speak a small amount of English as well. Lucia’s parents work full time as service workers, and their shifts entail long hours and work days. Lucia’s grandmother is her dominant caregiver because majority of the time her parents are working. The family relies not only on Lucia’s grandmother to provide afterschool and weekend childcare for Lucia, but her older brother, age twelve too. As stated by Goodwyn (2014), “It would have been hard to find a happier man than Erick Munoz on that Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving” (para. 1). Marlise Munoz was a 33-year old woman who had brain death because of a possible blood clot in her lungs on November 26. Marlise was pregnant at the time of her death and after her husband found her unconscious on the kitchen floor, she was hospitalized in John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth Texas (Goodwyn, 2014, The Strange Case…). Significantly, the family had expressed that Marlise desire was to not bee keep alive by the use of machines, however, the patient did not leave a written directive regarding her end-of-life care. On the other side, the hospital refused to withdraw the life-sustaining treatment from Marlise because of a provision from the advance directive law of Texas, that cites “A person may not withdraw or withhold life-sustaining treatment…from a pregnant patient” (“Advance Directives Act”, n.d.). Consequently, the family sued the hospital and after two months of suffering for the family, the judge ordered to withdraw any life-sustaining treatment from Marlise.
Another aspect of this “image problem” that pervades in female athletes is based on a more recent issue where a female surfer wasn’t able to get sponsorship to support her career because she wasn’t pretty enough. Silvana Lima is the best female surfer in Brazil, was denied a full sponsorship for the first 13 years of her career because of her physical appearance. This can dampen one’s spirt towards their sports because their talents are being ignored for something like beauty or physical attraction which has nothing to do with the way they perform. I can only imagine how Lima felt after not receiving the sponsorship she needed to continue her career because as an athlete when I run all my problems seems to fade away for a few seconds. Lima
