I think bullying is a big problem here in the USA and here at my school. Bullying can effect everyone, those who are bullied, and those who bully. Negative bullying can interfere with your mental health, or lead to substance use, and/or suicide. I asked Lenda how she felt and she said she felt, “unimportant, unnecessary, unwanted.” That’s a terrible way to feel. I know personally how it feels. It makes you feel like your life has no worth. It made me feel like I should bully other people to make myself feel better and doing that hurts everyone. When you are bullied, it hurts your self-esteem and breaks you down to feeling like a nothing. It could make a person turn violent to other people and to their self. Bullying mite seam like a game, but
Bullying is a very touchy subject for people to talk about. It deals with a lot of mental, physical, and emotional damage. Bullying is violent and unwelcoming behavior among various different aged children in school that involves a lack of power for one kid and a lot of power for another. The behavior of a bully is repeated numerous times over time and becomes more aggressive as the path goes on. The bully has an imbalance of power over the one being bullied. They bully uses their power for giving out embarrassing information, control, physical strength, popularity, and harming others. Kids who are being bullied and bullying others have serious lasting problems throughout their lifetime. Bullying is becoming a major issue in today 's society and somebody needs to make a stop to it.
No matter what type of bullying, it should not happen to anyone. No one deserves to have fears about going to go to or to work because they are afraid of being threatened and bullied. Bullying is a well known problem in the US yet little had been done to prevent the problem. Everyday, in schools, a placed where security and shelter was promised, young children and teenagers are physically threatened, publically embarrassed, and exploited on social media all because of bullies. If bullying happens in schools, people believe it is the children’s responsibility to address the problem themselves which is not the case. Yes, some of the responsibility is on the children, the victim, the bully, and the bystanders, but the other half is for the adults
Bullying has been present through time. It results from someone believing that there is a power imbalance, they believe that they are more important, better, or valuable than another person. This is the root of many problems in society. It is defined by the US government as, “Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems” (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)
My oldest daughter got bullied for having braces and my middle daughter got bullied for having hairy arms in Middle School but because I was writing this paper I asked all my friends, my boyfriend, my three children and my niece did they ever get bullied and if so did it affect them in any negative way and they all said “yes, they got bullied and no it didn’t hurt them.” Bullying never stops, you think that when you grow up, you get a career, and you become free from bullying but bullying is everywhere. Many successful people were once bullied. Is it safe to say that bullying isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be? Sure, in severe cases there are terrible outcomes, but that can be blamed on the parents for coddling their children when they were young and not letting them experience life. I’ve been bullied while driving; another car was in a hurry and cut me off while driving with the middle finger waved so freely out the window with their hand on the horn. There is bullying in the work force; you can be your supervisors pet and every other employee dislikes you, or you can be the snitch of the work place, or the brown noser. Bullying doesn’t end. It doesn’t just magically disappear on your last day of school on your senior year and that why I say it’s a part of life and you have to learn deal with it. In the Herald Media 2012 (Tobler, Payson) states “Bullying prepares you
An average bullying session lasts about 37 seconds; an adult intervenes in the problem about one in twenty-five times (Bullying Facts). Bullying is seen as aggressive and unwanted behavior between two or more people (Aspa). Most people who are not involved in the actions going on do not really know it’s happening. Most parents do not even know when their child, or children, are being bullied (Bullying Facts). Bullying can be prevented if the right consequences take place. Parents and schools have the rules about bullying prevention, but these do not prevent the bullying from continuing their ways. People who bully often should receive bigger consequences because eventually the problem could escalate and the bully will continue their
Bullying is growing day by day and we should make harsher punishments for bullies. Bullying has been happening for a while now and it affects how teenagers are in the real world. Being personally targeted by others in school or out of school can tend to have a negative effect on the victim, and may not always have a good turnout. Bullies need to be punished for their own actions and take the blame for what they have done. Bullies need to learn how it feels and how it could hurt someone so bad they would want to commit suicide. The issue of bullying may seem like something that should not be taken seriously, and it is quite often something we are all just neglect. If you place yourself in the shoes of the victim, the problem is in fact not a joke, but actually serious. We, as a nation, need to help put a stop to bullying and make harsher laws for bullies.
Bullying is a very serious problem. About 1/10 teenagers drop out of school because of being bullied. Victims of bullies tend to become depressed and many others have even taken their own lives away. Overall bullying has really ruined and hurt many people and it needs to be recognized. The issue of bullying hasn't been exaggerated at all. Additionally, all the attention and awareness that has been spread about bullying is completely appropriate.
Bullying is very bad and because of this about 160,000 of 13,000,000 kids stay home so they don’t get bullied by anyone. Also out of that 13 million 2,000 commit suicide because of the harsh bullying. Since many kids around the world are being bullied schools have been starting an anti-bullying system which brings bullies down by 15%. When kids reported bullying 80% of it is name calling, 39% is hitting or shoving, 38% is threats, 29% is rumor spreading, etc. Everyone should always remember one rule and that is the golden rule, the golden rule is to treat others how they want to be treated, but some bullies just don’t understand so they make everyone feel bad about themselves.
Totally, bullying behavior may engage conflicts among the same powers, and bullying all the time involved throbbing and hurting person who is not pretty able to protect her or him. Therefore, bullying occurs because of misuse of the power given by the bullies against the victims who lacks the power to defend self in this situation (Olweus, 2003). Further clarification for bullying is a state when there is disagreement between persons that do not distribute identical psychological and psychical control. Also, research on school bullying stresses that most bullies are typically physically stronger and victims are typically supposed as weaker and not capable to guard themselves. (Darmawan, 2010).
Bullying can be describes as an aggressive behavior from an individual that feels the need to overpower, and control others, whether physically or mentally. The term “bullying” is thrown around a bit excessively these days that we go to extremes when we hear the word, we either ignore it completely or we go off the handle and want to stamp everyone as a bully. As a society we have become desensitized to term while at the same time trying to stay politically correct, in other words we tend to look the other way, but when approached by others about it we try to save face. At times we even try to avoid explaining Darwins Theory of Evolution or in other words “natural selection” and label it as bullying. At the end of the day we need to address
Bullying is the act of using superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force them to do what one wants. Bullying is something that impacts people for the rest of their life. So why should someone be able to control of another person's life. The thing is they shouldn't be able to, it's something that has gone on for too long without being dealt with.
Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.
What appears to be bullying is not always bullying. There is this misconception that when someone disagrees with another person or is hurtful towards that person, bullying always seems to be what they say is going on. Although statistics shows that one in four kids are bullied, all aggressive actions are not bullying. If a person has self-esteem and self confidence in themselves and not let others tear you down the imbalance of power is balanced. Bullies have more power over their victims and always want to be on top. They enjoy displaying the power they have over their victim.
