Jesus, it’s unimaginable. All the things they did to you, that we as humankind have done to you, is completely unimaginable. And yet, it was real. So very real that hundreds of years later, people still try to depict and tell the age old story of the creator of the world that put on flesh to come to this mess of an earth and die. They try to capture the long, painful, sorrowful death, and even with the most modern technology, no one could ever capture exactly how dark and sacrificial it was. Thank you, thank you, thank you. There’s not much else to say.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

There is no film that deserves a prayer like The Passion of the Christ. It’s the type of film that makes you wonder if you know how to pray anymore. The most difficult thing about this film is not that it is full of blood and graphic scenes, but that it truly cannot accurately depict how harsh and difficult Jesus’ death was. After all of these years, with movies screens and computers, amazing actors and directors, it still isn’t enough. The film is beautifully arranged unlike any other film about Jesus’ life. When the director, Mel Gibson, set about to put together this movie, he did it with the intention of showing you, to the best of his ability, about Jesus’ death. Many films focus on the miracles, the life, the ministry, and many other things.…
