Murder is explained by The Oxford Dictionary as the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. When the issue of murder is brought up one always infers that a being was blatantly killed in cold blood. For a crime to be considered murder it does not need to be a heinous crime that involves death. Jim Morrison explained his concept of murder, in the best manner, through one of his famous quotes. “The most loving parents and relatives commit murder with smiles on their faces. They force us to destroy the person we really are: a subtle kind of murder.” Throughout Morrison’s short lived life he experienced various times of rebellion, even though he died at the young age of 27 (Jim Morrison). While Morrison was a child he was considered to be highly intelligent and was a devoted student (Jim Morrison). It is plausible that Jim Morrison wanted to do a lot of different things with his life but his family restricted his abilities and right to do so. Murder does not have to involve killing a person, but instead killing their motivation, strive, and dreams. It is a subtle kind of murder, forcing one’s child into activities and extracurriculars that they may hate. Jim Morrison grew up in the 1950’s and his family was supposed to look like the perfect christian family (Cosgrove). When Morrison and his band performed, he usually appeared to be high on substances and sometime drunk. At one of his concerts he was arrested on stage for allegedly exposing himself (Jim Morrison). But his family did not agree with the band he was in and tried to force him out of The Doors (Cosgrove).After the band started to make money his parents said he could stay in the band
