France had some well-known and talented poets, poetry got enhanced by them during the period of renaissance. To name a few, Joachim du Bellay, Pierre de Ronsard, and Louise Labe. French culture was revolutionized and influenced by these three poets. Additionally, these poets had some similarities in their poetry even though they had their own diverse form of writing. The most meaningful “I do not write of love”, by Joachim du Bellay’s poem has a powerful humility in it. It suppresses other poets’ work. Fair and in-depth comparison can be used by Pierre de Ronsard’s “Of his Lady’s Old Age” and Louise Labe’s “I Live, I Die” when speaking of “I do not write of Love”.

Louise Labe focuses on one intense example, “Joy comes and endless boredom weighs me down.” By this she means, is it even worth finding true love at the same time feeling pain and extremes. Her poems are well explanatory because one can imagine the description of the words being used in her poem.
Joachin du Bellay is famous for his poems that shows pain, heartache and sorrow. Additionally, they are overwhelming because they have a sense of humbling. He mentions, “I do not write of love”, which means he is not about love but at the same time he believes that he is. The poem seems to be self-criticizing yet it is valuable. Joachin du Bellay states, “…my pleasures are all over, so I do no try to write of pleasure, but only misery.” His words may sound harmful, yet it is honest poem out of all poems. His poem is straightforward and his words are honest because he has no desire to amaze anyone. There is a clear division in his poem, he is struggling to see the good in life. He thinks society is superficial, then he looks at himself and wonders he may be artificial too. The impression is that he points out his own errors without thinking about his image, is very touching. His poem is remarkable because he discusses about how people are not real as they pretend to be different. Also, he tries to be honest with himself and show people how he really is.
