Johannes Gutenberg was many things; goldsmith, blacksmith, printer, and a publisher but he is most well known for bringing movable type and the printing press to Europe. He created his first model of the printing press around 1440 in Strasbourg. Europe finally had a way to produce books faster, which led to cheap and obtainable books. More people were able to spread knowledge and ideas. Money was a big problem for Gutenberg. He was bankrupt and borrowed money from many people but that never stopped him from creating one of the most important innovations of his time. Being able to mass produce literature started religious revolutions and influenced many future innovations. Gutenberg Learned the skill of metal working from a young age.
