John Adams, this man has done many things. John Adams was born in braintree, massachusetts, or now as it is now called Quincy, massachusetts, on October thirtieth in the year 1735(“John Adams”). After being given a scholarship when he was sixteen John Adams attended Harvard University . There he was given his Master's degree and his Undergraduate degree. John then later graduated from Harvard in 1755 when he was twenty years old(“Bio.Com2”). John Adams was also part of the first continental congress, helped with the drafting of the declaration of independence, and he was once the first vice president and the second president of the united states(“Bio.Com1”). He published a series of essays in 1765 which were put in the newspaper. These essays were called “Dissertation on Canon and Feudal Law”. Although at the time there was nothing happening, later on all had heard of the of the stamp act as it became public before he had finished. As he heard that it had become public he decided to use his last essay as a form of ambush against the stamp act(“Biography”). In John's “Dissertation on Canon and Feudal Law” he quotes “The jaws of power are always open to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing.”(“Quotes”). Soon after, the Braintree townspeople chose John to write a protest going against the stamp act. John wasn't very sure at first until his cousin, Samuel Adams, told him that it would probably bring notoriety to boston. As you can probably tell he plays a big part in history and the events that led up to the revolutionary war. John went from being a lawyer to being a publisher that eventually gets the stamp act repealed to being a representative for the first continental congress. This man has done many things when he was a lawyer he helped british soldiers on trial from the “boston massacre”. He had published the essays that ended on attacking the stamp act.
