Although he possess those qualities he perceives emotional attributes that pull at the human instinct of wanting to be loved and accepted.Passion rose between Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire that keeps you on edge throughout the movie. Rocky is later faced with one of his hardest obstacles which results in a captivating outcome that leaves you speechless. The performers in Rocky were very unique in personality and all withheld compelling backgrounds. The first character that grasped my attention was Rocky. Rocky is passionate and persevering. For
She was kind of annoying because she was too good at playing a two goodie two shoes, but I loved her voice anyway. John Travolta had the acting skills to play Danny because he was an Elvis Presley wanna be. Stockard Channing, I wish was more a nice girl than when she acts like a spoiled little girl who always wants it her way. I think that she did amazing at playing her role as Betty Rizzo, but i feel like she was a bit old like in her early 30’s to play a role as a teenager. Jeff Conaway was great at playing his role because he knew how to act like greaser, but he also looked like one too. Talking about looks he also looks to old to play a role of a teenager which is Kenickie. Didi Conn was good at playing an airhead so it helped her play the role of Frenchy, but that’s what i mainly liked about the role. Dennis C. Stewart had a bad boy vibe so it helped with his role as Leo Balmudo. He looked kind of old to play the role just like Stockard Channing who played Betty Rizzo and Jeff Conaway who played Kenickie. Now onto the body paragraph where I’ll be describing what I like and what i
They reason why this movie is well liked. The acting in a movie is a huge part, if the actors do a good job in the movie.
Renee Zellweger (Roxie Hart) gave a truly believable performance. I really felt her drive to become a performer when watching the movie. Her dance numbers were incredible, and I really did enjoy watching her in the film. Catherine Zeta-Jones was wonderful in her supporting role as the highly successful showgirl turned murderer Velma Kelly. I felt that she earned her Academy Award for this role. Richard Gere gave a strong performance as the ace attorney Billy Flynn.
Creed, is a movie that performances by Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, Apollo Creed’s son, Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, and Tessa Thompson as Bianca was directed by Ryan Coogler. Adonis Johnson, who is the son of former heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, was living in the youth facility when Mary Anne, Creed’s widow visited him and decided to adopt him. Adonis work as a professional, but he was not satisfied with his current life. Mary Anne was so disappointed with him because Adonis’s father passed away in the ring, and she did not want Adonis to follow his dad’s step. Despite the fact that he wanted to pursue his dream to work as a professional fighter, he gave up his current job and went to Philadelphia. He found Rocky Balboa there and he requested Balboa to become his mentor and trained him. In the process of becoming a professional fighter, Adonis went through challenges. Even though Adonis faces challenges in life, he overcomes them because he never gives up.
A feature in the movie that grabbed my attention were the characteristics Dalton Trumbo had. His character emits grit and was genuinely
I was particularly struck by the acting of Gracie Sartin. Her fearless approach to so many elements of the play – whether it was being hit on the head with an ironing board, hitting another costar with the ironing board, or giving one of her characters (Villian) an accent - was incredibly interesting to watch. Despite the fact that she portrayed six different people, she embodied them so well that I did not see Gracie in them. I saw only the characters she was portraying. The other actors were also successful in that ability. I think that achievement, combined with the success of the way the time constraints were embraced, added greatly to the success of the play.
Rocky influenced the film industry through its plot. The main plot of Rocky is the main character’s desire to make his or her life better. This theme is one of the most common themes
The part about the Rocky statue that makes it so universal is that it represents the tale of an underdog. This underdog tale not only relates to Philadelphians, but it inspires people everywhere. An interview was conducted where boxers were asked to talk about Rocky’s impact on Philadelphia. Justin Sargus, a boxer in Philadelphia says “The impact it has had on fighters, and what they think they can do, and endure, and the way they go about training and style is certainly still felt today. A world championship is a possibility, based from being a relative unknown”. (Dinero 1) The statue gives Philadelphia something monumental to stand on and something to represent all the hardship the city has been through. The Rocky character also embraces the culture, and lifestyle of a true Philadelphian. He eats at the same restaurants, runs through the same streets, and speaks like a Philadelphia. This gives the statue a personal connection to the people of the city, one they can claim as their own. The places and stores seen in the movie are very popular tourist attractions in the city. Zeke Ferguson from Di Brunos Bros, a popular site from the movie says “It is an iconic story of an underdog which I think all Philadelphians have been at, at one time or another, and it shows you can succeed in the face of overwhelming odds” (Dinero 1) The city is filled with an enormous amount of diversity and just as the city and its people have been through hard times, so has Rocky. The statue also appeals to people worldwide not only because of its iconic underdog story, but because of its ability to appeal on a personal level. Whenever failure is upon someone, Rocky inspires them to come back strong because if you work hard you can achieve your goals. Justin Sargus says “The thing about the Rocky movies is that they make it seem like you can take an enormous amount
Unlike the highly political films of the early 1970’s that offered a tragic or rebellious view on America, like The Godfather, were replaced by more upbeat films, especially comedies featuring such actors as Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, and Chevy Chase. The most popular films moving towards the 1980’s were blockbusters that people could escape to including movies like Star Wars (1977), Superman (1978), and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). These movies featured spectacular special effects, action, and simplistic conflicts between good and evil or inspirational stories about the determined American spirit, like Rocky (1976).
If you are familiar with the British musical comedy horror film from the 70s, then you should know about the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show. The original 70’s film features a couple stranded after their car breaks down. They find themselves near a castle with a mad scientist.
The actors are believable in their roles. Steven Martin who acts as George Banks is outstanding in his role, he acts very well, so the audience knows his feelings, and feels sorry for him. The stars are not the main reason for me to see the film, but the title is.
All of the characters presented in the movie have a distinct personality, making the viewer engage deeply in the heart pumping action and drama.
Throughout the entire movie they disrespected him as a fighter and a person. During the press conference they held to make news about the fight public, they disrespected Rocky the most in front of a televised audience. Even the reporters seemed bias in their questioning when they are supposed to be completely unbiased. With Rocky standing at the podium next to him, one reporter asked “Apollo why are you fighting a contender who has virtually no shot at winning?”. To which Apollo answered sarcastically by saying “Well haven’t you ever heard of Valley Forge or Bunker Hill?”.
In cinema, there are many memorable scenes, but few are as iconic as a Rocky training montage. The horns from the montage’s music blast a feeling of triumph as you watch the fictional character, Rocky Balboa, train. The emotions from this scene can make the laziest person feel like they can run ten miles without the feeling of fatigue. Rocky is a series of six movies about a fictional boxer named Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone, and the triumphs of his boxing career. Rocky has an exhilarating boxing match as an underdog in each one of his movies. Also, in all the movies, there is often a singular theme of perseverance despite any of the hardships Rocky must face. The same theme can be found in the spin-off of the Rocky series, Creed. Creed takes place after Rocky’s retirement from boxing. The new protagonist, Adonis Creed, is the illegitimate child of the late former heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed. Adonis receives help from Rocky to pursue his career boxing professionally. Along his journey, Adonis comes into contact with many characters that portray the same characteristic of being able to persevere through their challenges and afflictions. Although there seems to be a singular message, Creed’s recurring theme of perseverance can be expressed in many ways because of the various adversities each character had to overcome.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show , directed by Jim Chapman, is a campy comedy musical set in a horror and science fiction themed castle in which sexuality and hilarity run rampant. The film, closely based on a stage production, hit theaters in 1975 and continued to rule the midnight film scene, becoming a cult-classic. By using homage and allusion to science fiction and horror B-films, lambasting sexual identity and gender normality, and employing a self-referential universe, The Rocky Horror Picture Show stands as a strong representation of 1970 's postmodernism in film.
