Did you know that John Brown killed 5 innocent men and boys? These people did not even own slaves. John Brown in my opinion is a villain because he not only killed people but he also lied to the court. I feel like this is an important topic because he had killed people that could have lived in the process and he had torn families apart that could have stayed happy. John Brown is a villain for killing and lying. John Brown is a villain because he is a killer. According to Document E, we read that John Brown had dragged Mahala Doyle’s husband and her 2 sons out of their home and had shot all three of them in her hearing and we are also told that Mahala Doyle had begged John Brown not to kill her last son. Mahala also stated that her family did not own any slaves and never planned on owning a slave. …show more content…

Mahala had also said that her son wanted to be at his execution so he could tie the rope around his neck. John Brown is a liar. As stated in Document F, John Brown had indicated that he never intended to kill anybody or start a revolt, but we know from Document C that he intentionally bought pikes which might add he intended to steal and intended to start a revolt and kill many innocent people as well. John Brown had said “I never intended murder or treason” (John Brown) but we know that he had killed five people willingly to end slavery. We also know that he had killed people who did not even own any slaves but lived in a pro-slavery place and might not have been the family's choice to live there.
