He won an Oscar for this song. An amazing accomplishment for anybody, let alone a musician. Bruce had now reached legend status, and filled his time with huge, sold-out shows, recording songs, or being a husband and dad. He was changing the world, not just emotionally but socially as well, one song at a time. A couple years ago a documentary titled “Springsteen and I,” was released. Although several documentaries had already been made about Bruce Springsteen, this one was different and perhaps more special. It is a documentary completely about Bruce’s fans and the impact he, and his music has had on them. It shows fans crying at his concerts, dancing in their kitchen to his songs, even one man proposing to his wife after singing a Bruce Springsteen song to her. It includes heartfelt, and tearful messages to Bruce. It is a documentary that just shows how much of an impact this man and his music has had on some people. He inspires his fans so much, and gives 110% of himself during shows. He leaves everything on the stage, and in his music. Bruce Springsteen has truly changed music, and his fans forever. His music not only reaches to their souls but also touches on social issues around the world. He makes his fans aware of current issues. He is a living legend who has used his position on pop culture to
All throughout Bon Jovi’s song “Livin’ on a Prayer” it shows a tone of being depressed and having hope. They shows this throughout the song to say having someone to lean on, in rough times, can help you get through them. This is most prevalent when he sings “Take my hand, we'll make it I swear” and “Baby it’s okay, someday”. Bon Jovi uses terms like metaphor, personification, irony and even connotation to show a tone of depression and hopefulness.

John J. Crittenden was the senator, born in Kentucky, who proposed the Crittenden Compromise, a proposal for a compromise between the Northern and southern States. The Crittenden Compromise proposed that there should be states that have slavery and that satisfy the southern demands but that the Missouri Compromise line should be redrawn. Although the southern states were willing to agree with this compromise, the northern states and the Republican Party were against this compromise for allowing future expansion of slavery and slave states. The Republican Party was unable to agree with this compromise since it did not solve the issue of slavery and the fugitive slave laws; the only difference this compromise provided was the reconfiguration of the Missouri Compromise line, which separated the slave and free states. John J. Crittenden was significant because his compromise was not able to be agreed upon by the South and the North; the break or the failure of this compromise further angered both sides of the United States.
It all started when in 1892 when John was 35 years old.He was in the marine when he started to have other plans. He wanted to start his own band.Let’s see how he started his band. How did he start as a U.S marine to a famous superstar.
Most of the time when you think of Jerry Lee Lewis, you think of the song " Great Balls of Fire," or " Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On,". That is ,because they both were rated #1 on the pop, country, and R&B list. "Great Balls of Fire," even sold more than half of a million copies. The next two best sales for Jerry's songs were 5,000 sales for the songs, "Breathless," and "High School Confidential," (Pareles & Romanowski, 1983). Jerry made many songs that you may know from the radio, movies, or even performed by other musicians. Not everyone may have known it was originally his song, but people who did know him, loved him for those songs! Also, if you see a man singing while standing on the piano or using their arms and feet, you can know, right away, that it is Jerry. Jerry was wacky on the piano. Sometimes he even set it on fire (Carlin, 2006)! Most of the things that Jerry was well known for were his insane acts! All those were great, but they were definitely not all of Jerry's
While growing up I’ve always had George Strait songs ringing in my ears. Before becoming big, he played in small bars around where I lived. Knowing that he started off small doing what he could to reach his dream is something I have always have looked up to. He’s one artist that I admire because he has always stuck to his roots while never straying too far. He has a talent for singing the most pure words and soothing melodies. His songs always seem to have so much emotion in them that it’s so easy to relate to them when going through any type of situation. George Strait is one artist who you can never get too tired of listening to, and whose words that you hope will stay around for years.
Billy Joel is one of the best selling solo artists of all time in the United States. Amongst his most popular songs are “Piano Man,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire” and “She’s Always a Woman,” all with good reason. Having written a plethora of memorable songs that could easily be added to the soundtrack of our lives, Billy Joel’s undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians and songwriters of all time.
The songs speak of a young man who has fought for everything he has. He began with nothing, no family, no friends, no money, the only thing he has is his education. Through this education he overcomes adversity, and becomes a founding father of the United States. Though many teenagers will laugh and ask “why”, I realize this music calms me. I have given endless hours of hard work, cutting weight, and dedication to the sport of wrestling and this music reminds me that I may not have as much as some other kids do but I have put in my time and effort and I will achieve what I know I have trained and practiced
But there were times when his battle with drugs and encounters with the police made vivid headlines that terrorized to eclipse his musical talents. As a solo artist, Michael scored a further seven number one singles in the UK with songs including: “Careless Whisper” and “Fastlove” collaborated with the likes of Aretha Franklin and Elton John, and won 3 Brit Awards and 2
Through his collaboration and use of the right words in his lyrics he gives us all hope and strength to open up and do what you want to make it happen.
Lucrezia Borgia, rumored femme fatale of the renaissance and patron of the arts, sits before me. The sleeves of her velvet gown leave red lines on her pale skin where it squeezes too tight, but she seems to not notice or care. She has kicked my shin two times under the table while crossing her legs and apologized neither time. The Borgia family, like many Italian families during the renaissance, fought maliciously for power and money, and Lucrezia was no exception. She was born from scandal, being the illegitimate daughter of pope Alexander VI, and she found herself entangled in messy affairs, incestral rumors, and political power plays. She would tell me her place in the story, not structured by the guiding hands of her father or brothers,
Guido d’Arezzo is credited for inventing modern musical notation (Ure). Up until the 9th century, musical notes were represented by “neumes” and the version of the staff they had only provided an approximation of what pitch the musicians should play. It is thought that the reason why this is is because music was traditionally passed down orally, and so the written music was only needed as a reminder while the musicians learned by actually hearing the music using rote rehersal. After the 9th century, musicians started experimenting with different ways to write music down on a staff. In the 12th century, Guido d’Arezzo invented the Guidonian Hand. This was a way to notate musical notes on the human hand. This was used for learning, teaching,
