John Hughes was the creator of the nationwide known classic movies of the 1980s. From The Breakfast Club to Home Alone, Hughes produced a wide variety of movies in order to satisfy his viewers. His films highlighted the talents of the actors and the relatable dramas of society. Inspired by the movies, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It’s a Wonderful Life, Hughes decided to write movies that viewers could relate to. Even 30 years later, Hughes’ movies still inspire and entertain its viewers through classic high school dramas and miraculous happy endings. Knowing that I would find a lot of review type websites, I decided to start my research on EBSCO in order to find a credible source. After skimming through multiple pages on EBSCO all I found was films by Hughes and articles by other authors by the name John Hughes. I then searched the same words in Google Scholar and found articles from the 80s. Although a few of them were short, they still provided important information about Hughes’ career and what his actors thought of him. This was a breaking point in my research project. I found multiple articles that each had their own main point and talked about different achievements accomplished by Hughes. The best article I found was by New York Times, titled John Hughes’s “Breakfast Club.” This article provided information about the cast of The Breakfast Club, Hughes’ interactions with his cast, and the originality of the characters in his movies. The Sun Also Rises is a novel written by Ernest Hemingway, first published in 1926. Hemingway wrote the novel about a group of American and British expatriates who travel from Paris to the festival of San Fermín in Pamplona to watch the running of the bulls and the bullfights. Hemingway gives the reader a look at the post World War I generation, which included the Lost Generation. Many of the important characters in The Sun Also Rises are simply lost. Many people might believe that popular news companies share and release politically biased information to the public with intentions to directly persuade the citizen’s opinions. The politically shared values and opinions of the American citizens strongly influence the executive decisions made within the United States government. Although, people that share conservative values believe that most news companies have a liberal bias, on the controversy, most people that share liberal values believe that most news companies have a conservative bias. This being said, all media released to the public, inevitably shares some kind of political bias and opinion that contains qualities of an opposing party.
