Biography John Kasich is from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, which is a town outside of Pittsburgh where his father delivered mail for 30 years. He has a long history of working with the government and in that time has gained a lot of experience over the years. Kasich was re-elected as governor of Ohio, a swing state, last year by a 30 point margin and has managed to turn its $8 billion shortfall into a $2 billion surplus while also cutting taxes by $5 billion. John also helped balance the budget of the federal government when he was a chair of the Budget Committee in Congress; in fact, he has previous experience with money as an investment banker. John Kasich is also a New York Times best selling author and has been on Fox News. Kasich was even once an ally of President Ronald Reagan and supported his national security agenda, spending 18 years on the House Armed Service Committee.

John Kasich actually formed the first state funding stream for rape crisis centers so survivors can receive the needed support, providers can receive training, and they can receive technical assistance. He wants to prevent any pro-choice organizations like Planned Parenthood from taking funding taxpayer and instead create a Parenting-and-Pregnancy support program that provides counseling to pregnant women, connects new mothers to additional help, and meets the practical needs of new mothers such as items like cribs ad formula, costing $500,000 per year. Creating an alternative to abortion, John Kasich wants to make adoption more affordable, easier, and less bureaucratic.

Erik Paulsen resides in Eden Prairie with his wife and four daughters. He attended St. Olaf college where he received a B. A. in mathematics. Before entering the political scene, Paulsen worked as a business analyst for the Target Corporation. Erik was elected to congress in 2008. Previously, he served on the Minnesota state legislature for 14 years. Erik supports a strong economic climate for job growth, a fairly-funded and accountable education system, a well-preserved environment, safe communities, and tax reform for taxpayers and businesses.
If I were to choose a figure in the government who I admire the most, that person would be Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina. Ever since I began to take an interest in politics, I always leaned towards the conservative side of the spectrum but everyone else around me identified as a liberal. As an African-American male, it is hard to come out as a black republican, especially when you attend a Historically Black College. For the last couple of decades, the black community has tended to vote Democrat and when they see one of their own come out as a republican, they reject that person and instantly decry them. So many blacks who do share conservative views choose not to come out as republican, partly because of the backlash they expect to face. However, this is not the case of Senator Tim Scott. Through out the course of history, America has seen great Presidents. These men all exhibited characteristics which helped them to be successful in their endeavor to become the nations leader. Among those characteristics are traits such as being a good spokesperson or leader and being fair towards all which makes for a good President.

On the issues, Ted Cruz holds many unique positions, often stirring controversy amongst Democrats and fellow Republicans alike. Ted Cruz identifies strongly with the Tea Party Movement, leaning to the far right on many social, domestic and international issues. He particularly emphasizes his bold stances on issues like fighting ISIS, reducing taxes, and lifting regulations on business. However, one area that Cruz is especially passionate about is the many social issues that are debated by American citizens. On gay marriage, Cruz has maintained that he as a believer in traditional marriage between a man and a woman. He sponsored and passed a bill in the United States Senate to leave the decision of marriage to individual state legislatures.
Grover Cleveland was born in Caldwell, New Jersey on March 18, 1837 his friends called him “Uncle Jumbo” or “Big Steve”. He had nine siblings but I could only fine one, his sister Rose Cleveland, who was born in Fayetteville, New York on June 13, 1846 and died on November 22, 1918. She was the first lady for him from 1885 to 1886 in the first of his two inconsecutive terms. Until in 1886 Grover married Frances Folsom Cleveland Preston who became the first lady to Grover Cleveland from 1886 to the year 1889 and then again, because he was the 22nd and 24th president, from 1893 to 1897. She is still the youngest first lady that is wife to the president. Grover’s Children were, Ruth Cleveland, Esther Cleveland, Marion Cleveland, Richard Cleveland, and Francis Cleveland. Ruth was born in 1891 and died in 1904. She died at the age of 12 from a bout of diphtheria. Esther was born in 1893 and died in 1980. Marion was born in 1895 and died in 1977. Richard was born in 1897 and died in 1974. Francis was born in 1903 and died in 1995.
Andrew Johnson Andrew Johnson was born on December 29, 1808, in Raleigh, North Carolina, the youngest of two sons. His father, Jacob Johnson, was a porter who died in 1811 after saving a man from drowning. His mother, Mary McDonough Johnson supported the family by spinning and weaving cloth in their Raleigh cottage. At the age of 14, Johnson was apprenticed to a tailor.

Although it is often said that the President of the United States holds the most powerful office in the world, this does not mean that he is able to decide very much for himself. The American Constitution, which was adapted in 1789, clearly states the Separation of Powers. Thus, the president makes up only one third of the government, namely the executive branch. He is also controlled by a complex system of checks and balances, which makes sure that he (or any of the other branches, for that matter) does not become too powerful. We will now have a look at the different problems which may be facing a recently elected president, and then discuss to what extent his powers are important.

Many people have asked me why I am running for vice president. Would you ask a fifth grader if he is going to go to the 6th grade? No right because they have to keep going to the next level. Ever since I came to the University of Bridgeport, I constantly looked for ways to become more involved and to keep having an impact in the university. Every year, here at the University of Bridgeport I am involved in something new. Whether it's being an OL, President of a Club or even starting a chapter/club which is known as the food recovery network, with the help of my peers. The food recovery network have recovered more than 300 pounds of food that would otherwise have been thrown out.

When he was in office he was mostly occupied with the states that broke away from the Union,who was named the Confederate States of America. The first to break away was South Carolina followed by 6 other states before the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln. And then four more at the beginning of the Civil War,Battle of Fort Sumter.
