John Peter Smith Hospital (JPS) is part of the JPS health network that provides health services to the people of Tarrant County, Texas. According to the United States Census Bureau (n.d), Tarrant county population is estimated to be one million nine hundred eighty-two thousand four hundred ninety-eight (1, 982, 498), as of July, 2015. John Peter Smith hospital is publicly funded with a 537 bed. It is located in Fort-Worth, Texas. Accreditation is by the Joint Commission. Services provided include Intensive Care, Emergence care, Urgent Care, Trauma care, Behavioral health, healing wings for HIV/AIDS center, Orthopedic and sport medicine, Robotic surgery, Stroke Center, Surgical Services, Women and Children services. The hospital is having involved in the community and with the generous support of its employees and the public through JPS foundation, has been able to support programs like March of dimes, and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). According to John Peter Smith health Network (n.d), there is a new program organized by the trauma center titled, “stop the bleed.” The aim is to teach ordinary people how to prevent and control bleeding that could be life threatening.
